So tonight at my check up at the doctors they have prescribed me medication to help with my anxiety along with counselling sessions.

Is medication the way forward ?
It really depends on the person. I was put on Zoloft in September and had terrifying reaction to the drug and was taken off it within 4 days. I felt no control over myself terrible side effects that were unbearable. But on the other hand they work really well for some people so that’s up to you since you know yourself best all the best to you
Thanks for your reply, I am on 50mg of Sertraline.
Depends really, like the other commentator said, some work for people, some don't. Its about finding what works. I had lexapro work horribly for me. Zoloft on the other hand, has been decent. Weird dreams, nightmares, and headaches, but I've been able to get back to my life for the most part.
I have tried everything out there as far a SSRIs. Paxil I know has a ton of side effects but it was the only one to work for me without making me feel like I was on speed and making everything worse. And I actually get no weight gain and no side effects with it. It’s always worth a try. I hate being on something daily but any relief was a blessing to me.
I'm on 40 mg of citalopram and 2.5 mg of valium when needed seems to be looking up!
