The 1st thing you need to do is go somewhere you feel comfortable go sit in a comfy chair or lay on a bed on your back with a nice blanket or go lay flat on the floor. Do Two-Four breathing. Breathe in for a count of 2 pause then breathe out slowly for 4. Do this about 10 times.
Clear your mind. Close your eyes if you have to and picture a black room. Let your thoughts come and go but don’t entertain any of them just let them float by like little clouds. Tell yourself “I am safe. I am okay. This is just anxiety playing a trick on me”
Nothing will happen to you. I thought one day I smelt something burning as well but I realized I had my kitchen window open slightly and a neighbour had been cooking and burned some food once I closed the window that sensation was gone.
Maybe you could light a nice scented candle or something to calm you. Just take time to rest. You will be fine it is just anxiety
How frequently is it happening and how long does it last for?
This could very well just be anxiety but I would see a Dr as these symptoms can sometimes be related to seizures.
I sometimes wake up and think I can smell burnt toast or bacon when there is none. Or once I smelt a strong smell of roses. I suspect it might be quite common and normal to have this happen occasionally. Is it possible that you are panicking when you experience it and that this is causing you to feel like you're blacking out? Do you actually feel like you lose consciousness ?
Yes I feel like I panic when I feel it, and that's the blank out feeling. I felt it yesterday a couple times. I'm thinking it's somehing with to do withmy sinuses, today i have a pressure type headache in the middle of my forhead. I took some medicine and hoping it helps.
Trying not to think of seizures bc that scares me. But that crossed my mind of course
