Hi all I have an endoscopy on Friday and I’ve been told to stop my omeprazole two weeks prior. I haven’t taken it in over a week and today my acid has been so bad. Like always needing to burp. Food struggling to go down. Coupled with anxiety I’m in a bad place. Certain I have heart problems along with some sort of stomach issue. I’ll find out Friday hopefully. Why do I have to stop taking these tablets? My acid is so bad rigP

Sandy, I forgot about the Endoscopy on Friday. Then the answer is no you shouldn't take anything without consulting your doctor. I'm sorry about that.
