Increase of sertraline dosage

Hi. I increased from 50mg - 100mg on Friday (I took 75mg Fri Sat and Sun to help my body adjust and started on 100mg yesterday) and got told by my doctor I would feel “wired” for the next week or so. However I feel the total opposite. Really bad headache and feeling so tired and out of it basically. Did anyone else experience this and how long did it take to settle if it’s due to my medication. It doesn’t he thinks I have an inflamed ear drum too so I’m suffering from sharp pains, throbbing etc off that so have started antibiotics today too. So don’t know if it’s down to that or my medication increase. Thanks

Hi I too have recently increased my 50mg sertraline to 100mg but not 75mg. Straight upto 100mg with my doctors agreement! Think i staeted that dose 2 weeks ago. I am not sure what symptoms I'm having as I have had weird thoughts, cried, been emotional and sensitive feeling scared and alone with it all going on in my head. I am putting it down to the meds taking anchor. Will just have to wait and see.

I decided just to do 75mg as I was at work for them 3 days and now I’m off this week so can put up with side effects from the comfort of my own home! That’s the unfortunate thing- it’s just a waiting game isn’t it! Hopefully things improve soon for the both of us

Yes but we just need to be kind to ourselves and take things slow. I just hope that this medication works better than the previous one. I have been on 50mg for about 9 months and just had a recent episode that scared me into thinking I need to increase it. So here I am. Hopefully it will help. Fingers crossed. Good luck and stay in touch. We need to see how each other fares. Good luck.

I’m in the exact same situation. Been on 50mg for 7 months and a recent episode has also scared me into thinking I need to increase. Good luck to you also!

How long have you suffered with the illness and what is it that you have? If you don't mind me asking.

I have anxiety. When I look back at my life (I’m 23) I think I’ve had it since a young age but only went to the doctors in 2016 about it and started to understand what it was etc and get help

I have anxiety & depression. I am hoping it helps me alot. I believe I started getting poorly about 19 yrs old but may have been slightly before this. I have a sister who has similar and anxiety in the family. I was on citalopram but I don't think it helped so my fingers are crossed with sertraline.....

Yes I also have depression and anxiety in the family but as a child I was oblivious and only became aware once I started becoming poorly myself. I also tried citaloprom and worked but only for so long unfortunately. Fingers crossed!!

How many episodes of depression so you suffer from each year would you say and what symptoms do you have and how long do your episodes last if you don't mind me asking?

I have also had a painful massage for pain in my shoulder from a recent attack of the nerves which may be reducing my tolerance at the moment.
