Endoscopy

Im getting very nervous about my endoscopy on tues,it's yrs since i had 1. Wonder if things have improved?

I can understand why you are staring to feel anxious , Tuesday will be here & gone soon my love & you can relax & feel proud that you have acheived facing another thing that you fear

Are you going to have some sedation , its alot better if you do , you will hardly realise what they are doing

We are all here for you & help you get through this & soon you will be posting you have had it done & everything is ok

If you are having sedation hun , you will just feel all lovely , infact your anxiety will go away for a short while

All things medical really scare me so I know how you feel but WhyWhy is right. It will soon be over. Try not to dwell on it too much - easier said than done, I know.

i had GA whitch i had to fight for cos im such a nervous person anyway. i was offered sedation last year but i personally felt i want to be completely asleep, although if you tell them your really nervous they will give you extra sedation and you wont have a clue anyway. good luck, i was like you last week and i really feel for you. you will be fine as you have been there and done it before. x

It's 10yrs since I had 1,and it was a bad experience,the doc put the tube down before I got the sedation,it was awfull

i think things would have improved from 10yrs ago. do stress that you are very nervous and you want plenty of sedation, make sure someone goes with you and have some pepermint tea or what ever helps you personally with trapped wind. that was one of the worst bits for me the trapped wind after, ive still got some of it left......oh i want to come and hug you!

Well today's the day of my endoscopy,which I'm ab dreading ,I'm sat here knitting willing the time to go slowly and it isn't,1.30 is my time at the hospital,I know it's silly to be so scared ,but really can't help myself.i had such a bad time 10yrs ago when I 1st had it done

Hi back home now everything went ok ,my daughter went with me,I had sedation so can't remember much,feel a little lite headed but otherwise ok ,doc was lovely and the nurses too,

Ive had one not a very pleaant experience without sedation so my advice would be to take the sedation as this makes it a lot easier to deal with.

Either way you will be fine and I hope your health is too.
