Head Zaps Anyone?

Okay so I think I've had one before a couple of years ago. But today I was working and I felt a bit uneasy because I was spraying myself of sunscreen and whenever I moved away from the spray so I wouldn't breathe it in, I felt like it was still strong and ended up inhaling it. Anyways I kept thinking about it while working outside. I noticed a breathing seemed a bit different whenever I inhaled so I started to freak myself out thinking that it was because of the sunscreen. But I tried relaxing by walking around outside. Let me add that I had coffee in the morning. But anyways, as I continued to walking, I felt this weird motion in my head that almost felt like a funny sensation in my head and also made it seem like a head change. Almost like a light-headed feeling but not really. But it was incredibly brief. I went inside to get water and sit down. I feel fine now. But has anyone ever had this happen before?

Hi Robby36, I have had that "head zap" feeling/sensation many times. I believe it has to do with the nervous system. Almost like a nerve zap. I will tell you that I am also very sensitive and concerned about breathing in any foreign chemical. Whether it's perfume, household disinfectants or anything else that may be in the air. It happened to me today. I realized that I hold my breath whenever there are chemicals in the air which then makes me short of breath as well as lightheaded if you hold your breath too long. I don't get anxious because I know where it's coming from but it is disturbing for those few moments. I think that is what might have happened when you sprayed the sunscreen, to avoid breathing it, you held your breath inadvertently. We are all alike, you are never unique with anxiety. :)

I had brain zaps relatively early on during the onset of anxiety. It is just electrical impulses and nothing to be concerned about and will fade away after you stop fearing them. In fact, all anxiety related symptoms will fade once you overcome your fear of them.

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. Just because I like to give details but does it feel almost as if your brain jolts once or twice?

Hello,

I'm not on any medication. But the way I described it, does it sound similar? Almost feels like your brain moves a couple of times

Yes I get this too. Would you say it's like a muscle spasm but in your brain?

I guess it can be something like that. But agora1 explained pretty well as to what I felt. I know it's in my head because ever since I felt it on Monday, I worried about it, which has created the tight band around the head and feeling a bit off balance. But these are all anxiety symptoms and i need to overcome them :)
