Maybe my last post!

I think I ve already ruined my life , or my anxiety or my health did it . I was damned by it at 16 years age , the time when one should be enjoying life . Everyone tells me to stop worrying about my health but how can I ? Every single infromation about health out there is really depressing . You come across such diseases with no cure , diseases that could struck anyone at any time , lifetime diseases , congenital undiagnosed diseases , uncertainty of diagnostic tests and so on . Still everyone says to stop worry ? How can I stop worrying when there is so much to worry about . I dont understand how are people living with diseases . To me , my symptoms are a reminder of imminent death . I just ...cant ... find a way out! My problems seems to be different than everyone out there . I just released everything that was inside me today!

I know we can sometimes feel that we are different from everyone else but believe me we are not , so many people think and fear the same

I wonder when you are looking at these diseases with no cures etc do you ever look up the statistics ?

What are the chances of people getting these things ?

Usually the odds are so very low , maybe 1 in 1000 even more , what makes you feel you will be that one ?

Your anxiety does !

But statistics would say not , yet we allow anxiety to win every time until we learn to change the way we think , which is not easy but can be done :-)

Health Anxiety is dreadful when you suffer with it I do know , but then dying and I cringe when I say it is something that will happen to every single one of us there is no getting away from that and I sometimes think it is the fear of that thought rather than dying that keeps us feeling such intense anxiety , yet between now and then it is what we do , do we enjoy life or do we just sit and wait ?

We need to enjoy life I believe is the answer but how when we fear so much ?

Well we get all the help we can , we put all the hard work in when we get that help , if friends and family won't or cannot understand we talk to people that do , like your Doctor who could either prescribe medication or therapy to help you even if you have tried them before it is so worth trying again , so many things don't work first time round but with perseverance they can a second or third or even more if needed but the secret is to never give up :-)

We also have to help ourselves and when we have Health Anxiety the anxiety part will send us searching for scare stories to keep control of us we have to stop reading about them , listening about them , the moment we see or start to hear something we know will upset and feed are anxiety we have to stop reading or listening and move on to another subject , this again can be done with practice but somethings only we can stop ourselves and no one else can do for us but I hope you keep posting and talking on here because one thing we hopefully can do is support you and let you know that you are not the only one and we do understand :-)

Acceptance is key you have chronic health anxiety.as we get older illness is never far from us family friends colleagues our selves !! You can beat it but you must see your gp and keep talking about your feelings!this site is fantastic and I joined a few weeks ago I'm not alone anymore wrestling with anxiety and feelings of going mad!! We all are behind you and by sharing it helps ive been a nurse 35 years and I've helped many people with illness and sadness but I can't help myself,but with your help and everyone else I will get there .sending u a hug 🤗

I have health anxiety too. My most recent and worst fear has been of HIV. I don't know why I'm so paranoid about it- I have been tested and the person I'm convinced I got it from? We never had sex! But yet my anxiety keeps showing me having it and losing everyone i love. Anxiety wants to make sure you stay scared. I'm In reality anxiety is trying to protect you but dang it does a bad job! What has been slowly helping me is accepting it. Accept your fears. Challenge your anxiety. When it shows you dying say yeah? Ok. I'm going to die one day anyways. When it shows you losing people uou love say well if they truly love me they will stay in my life. You just need to challenge it. It won't work right away, you have to train your brain. I also recommend therapy. A professional can teach you how to think and determine if medicine can also help.

Just remember you aren't alone. Life is scary. Diseases exist and we can't do a thing about it except to take care of ourselves as best as we can. Try eating healthy and don't do drugs or drink a lot of caffeine. I wish you the best of luck. It will be ok!

You're depressed because you're siding with the negative side of life. You're alive and well, so live while you can. Life is temporary.
