Hi! I'm new to this so here it goes. I'm 48 and have had anxiety for about 3 years now. At the same time I started having tension headaches. Doc put me on amrix for headaches which seemed to work great. Take Klonopin as needed for my anxiety. Everything seemed to be going okay and then in June started getting the headaches again. They are constant dull aches that come and go. I have appointment with neurologist on Wednesday and I'm so afraid that I have a tumor or something else seriously wrong with me. Can the anxiety be causing the headaches? Anyone else have these.

Headaches that won't go away
Hi Anxietysucks, Anxiety can and does cause tension headaches or as my doctor called them, Muscle Contraction Headaches. I had multiple headaches per week with Migraines making an appearance a couple times a month so I was never without pain. I too went and had a neurological workup as well as an MRI before getting this diagnosis. Having anxiety keeps the fire lit on these headaches. As I learned to control my stress levels as well as having physical therapy to relieve the tight muscles in my neck, the headaches started to fade.
Good Luck with your appointment on Wednesday. Let us know how it went. I certainly know what it's like as well as many others on the forum. You certainly are not alone. Feel better x
I have almost constant headaches. I even sometimes realize I'm clinching or tightening my muscles. Not sure if it's stress or anxiety but sometimes I can relax it for a few seconds and it subsides.
Might just need dose adjustment or change meds. You'll know for sure in 2 days. 🙂
Yes I get these and thought the exact same as you just had to reduce stress and get massages once a week to relieve tension I also take amitriptyline 25mg
Don't assume the worst and don't google
Best wishes
Curtis
Could be your blood pressure rises a bit and that could be the cause of your headaches.
