Does any one get anxiety when waiting to talk to their therapist? Like not only my therapist I get anxiety going to get medication or seeing my pcp. Like I'm scared to let people know whatswhat's wrong with me.

I get anxiety when waiting to talk to my therapist but then when I sit and talk to her, I feel relieved! Idk if I need medication yet though. Definitely try taking some deep breaths though, I think it's normal to feel that way!

Hi Nisha93,

It's natural to feel anxious when seeing people who have so much knowledge. Remember, you too are an expert in your lived experience of whatever ails you.

There is another quote which I carry in my wallet, " There can be no other mindset but total honesty" from Professor Adrienne Clark

Remember the quote from Dr Seuss " Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind".

I feel the same sometimes but definitely feel better afterwards. I'm not on medication and feel like I'm getting better week by week but I still have my down moments. I still get nervous thinking about seeing my Doctor in case there is something wrong or I make myself look stupid but if I avoided it I would only wind myself up more. Keep pushing :) x

Hi Nisha! You're not alone. I feel the same. Feeling anxious while waiting for my turn in my doctor's clinic or seeing other patient around. After the consultation, I feel better though.

Don't be afraid to let other people know about what you feel/how you are feeling. Telling them will make you feel better and safe.

I already told my family and friends about my anxiety and they seem to understand my episodes. If someone would react indifferently, try to brush it off and just ignore. Later on that person will realize that our condition is something not to be taken as a joke - as a matter of fact we really do need support.
