Feeling hot and sweaty

I don't know if anxiety makes me hot, or if I get really hot and then because of heat I feel anxious, I can't work it out but I know for sure if I am hot I get even more anxious and feel horrible and disgusting and stuff, I would rather just be cool, I hate feeling hot it makes my anxiety so bad, I don't know why I'm telling this, I just needed to say how I feel because it's really annoying:/// I want to be sat out in the North Pole rn:(

I like to freeze a 16 oz. water bottle and carry w/me. As it melts, it's disguised as my drink. Secretly, it's cold and helps me stay cool. Serves like a security blanket too. Squeeze it, rub on my wrists to cool blood, even apply to my face when getting "hot". Hope that helps.

Hi Extremeanxiety, You can go to the North Pole and be with Santa and his elves :)

That's the wonderful thing about our imagination. Our minds may work against us when we are boggled down with anxiety BUT...the mind is a powerful tool in that we can suggest it to do what we want it to. This is where Imagery takes place and really works. Picture yourself walking on the ice paths of the North Pole. The wind is howling and as warm as you are dressed, the piercing wind goes right through. Giving you a shiver. You keep going because you like the feel of the cold against your skin. A calmness is starting to come over you as your body is cooling down.

This is just a small example of how our mind can take us to a another place in time, bringing us relief from what is bothering us. As for your question to being hot?? Yes both anxiety as well as medication can cause the thermostat in your body to rise. Don't fight it, accept it as not harmful. Like anything else with anxiety, it is short term. You can either get a fan, a cool towel or take that trip to the North Pole. Your choice. Feel better x
