just feel bad
Hi lal0604, Welcome to the Anxiety Forum. How may we help support you? Have you been diagnosed with Anxiety disorder?
Yes i have anxiety and depression lost my job because of it taking 2.5 mg of xanax per day had attack yesterday doc wants me off xanax starting zoloft today. very scared.
lal0604, I am so very sorry to hear that. I can understand how scared you are. The best thing you can do right now is to follow your doctor's orders. As hard as it may be you are going to have to put your problems and stresses on the back burner right now. Nothing is as important as your health at the moment. If you are in the hospital they may have someone come to talk with you from the Heart Assn. who can answer your questions and give you some advice in going forward.
I'm sure you are aware how much stress has to do with your health issue. Once you get back home, seeing that you are starting on Zoloft today, you may want to incorporate talking therapy with that. As for the forum, we can help support you through the difficult part of anxiety/depression when going through a traumatic health event.
We are here for you as we all are for each other. You are never alone. Right now you need to relax and stay calm. Everything will be okay. My best to you.
I'm not in the hospital i'm at home. I'm so scared of losing everything and its feeding my anxiety. i know that when i relax my heart rate drops to 48 and i get dizzy, and then i have a panic attack and the cycle continues. The ER has labeled me as a whack job and there is no help there. i need to focus on the good thing in life but the good things are few. i have no support at home my wife just tells me i need to get a job fast.
I can imagine how your anxiety is being fed by everything around you. The heart rate dropping to 48 is from the b/p med. I'm on blood pressure medication as well as heart medication for A-Fib. It is okay when the pressure falls some when you are relaxing. If it bothers you too much, your doctor can do some adjustment in dosage perhaps. I'm sorry that the ER has given you a hard time. Usually they will point you in the right direction when under so much stress.
The good things in life may be far and few between right now and so you will have to conjure up some peaceful/imaginary thoughts in order to bring down your stress level. I take a break every afternoon by tuning into YouTube for a 5-10 minutes stress reduction. It calms my mind and body and is extremely helpful.
Type in Audio Meditation/DeepBreathing. Learned deep breathing can keep you an a more even keel through the day whether you have support of not. I do not have support either. My methods used for relaxation are what keep me calm as well as prepared to handle any stress that comes along.
Having your wife tell you that you need to get a job fast is pressuring you even more. What does your doctor say?? Use this forum as a way to release your pentup anxiety and fears. Many as yourself have gone through health issues, job loss as well as dealing with anxiety and depression. Knowing you are not alone will help. We all have the strength within us to get better however, you may have to block out the outside negative comments. You and your doctor should be the only 2 making the decision as to when you are up to going back to work. Until then, your job is to get back on your feet.
We're behind you 100%.
Thank you so much for the thoughts I just went for a drive and got more depressed because I go by where are used to work at I know that was bad I don't know why I did it. I'm back home now trying to relax I took my first dosage of medication. I'm so depressed and so down I have to remind myself what the live for.
Hi, just came back from doctor's appointment. I'm glad you got out for a drive but you know memories are going to stir up depression. I too pass the house I use to live in when life didn't seem as complicated. It know longer stirs up the deep memories but I still always have to slow down and take a quick look.
I'm glad you took the first dosage of medication. That's a start in helping you within several weeks. Meanwhile continue using relaxation methods every day. I'm about to tune into YouTube and listen to a 10 min meditation. It helps clear my mind some. Anxiety will always be a part of who we are but keeping it under control is our job.
You have something to live for and that is yourself. You were given a chance at life twice, at birth and after the heart attack. Their must be a reason Think of that when being down. Live can be good again. Stay Positive, Stay Strong and Believe...
I have lots to live for....my kids, myself
Oh lal0604, sorry my mistake. Actually we can help more with the Panic Attacks which are horrendous in itself. Now you are thinking along the positive way, your children and yourself.
With panic and anxiety, something usually starts the chain of reaction of fear. Could be an illness, a difficult life event etc. It usually doesn't just manifest itself out of no where. Finding or realizing the cause (the root) of anxiety will help in addressing it and moving forward working towards your triggers. Some tend to sweep the cause under the carpet afraid in that it might stir up bad memories. Somehow, someway it needs to come out and when it is not addressed it comes out as a Panic/Anxiety Attack. The mind can only store so much and then it over spills into our everyday life, putting our life up for grabs.
You will be okay. We will help you as we all have gone and are going through the same thing. This forum has a group of wonderful supportive men and women of all ages who can relate to what you are going through. You are not alone. Hang on, we will all get there in our own time. My best.
