Night twitching
Hey there. Although I get the twitches, I sleep well thankfully. I have weird dreams but I just ignore them.
Have a good day.
So u get arm leg twitches etc? :/ so worrying
So u get arm leg twitches etc? :/ so worrying
Yes my arms more than my legs. My left leg was paining so badly the other day, all I did was, too myself not to worry, went to bathroom, rubbed Arnica oil all over my leg and got into a warm bath. All was good after that.
In the past I thought I had restless leg syndrome 👀🙈
Not sure wat that is
Restless leg syndrome is awful, it is where you get aches and pains in your legs, cramp and burning in your feet, you feel the urge to move your legs into another position all the time and feel the need to get up and walk around. I usually massage mine and do gentle stretching, it helps a little but is unsettling
my twitching is sometimes arms tricept area and thighs
Ah I see ok, do you take any meds, I take Lamotragine and Venlafaxine so they both have side affects for me, I get all sorts of things happening. So frustrating
just amitriptyline for anxiety every night
Ok, have you looked at the side affects of those, did you have this before the meds were given
No I've not had them before,
Mm strange then, annoying huh?
Yeh very, don't notice anything when working etc but when I stop for drink or food or on the computer I get twitches here and there, maybe just thinking about it makes it happen?
Yeah that sounds like me, if I'm occupied I don't feel anything, just when I sit and relax, I over think too, I am terrible
we need shooting lol
Lol, I'm my own worst enemy apparently
I actually get told the same! get told to stop worrying but you know as well as I do easier said then done lol
You called !!
How's u mate
I'm ok ta !! U ?
Mumof9999999 is throwing the insults around no there's no apparent about it, so there !!
Not too bad m8, just plodding along working trying to ignore the odd thigh twitch and arm lol, soon be the weekend
Lovely kitchen you got there young man !!
You fine. Wierdo but I reckon work and your computer are stressful places for you, why else would you twitch at them both.
Weekends only a day away, anything planned ?
Hows work going today ?
Yeh I have a stag party all day sat and going to be a right laugh so hopefully take my mind off things and thanks done it all myself
Will you drink on your meds ?
Yes very good, did all himself ya know
Is ya stag do here or abroad, who is that's getting married ?
U get those. I don't know if it's from stopping Zoloft or from starting amitriptyline
I'm on amitriptyline for 6 weeks and never had it before
I get weird arm and thigh twitches almost like when your eyelid twitches.. and I always have weird dreams.. all anxiety, I didn't expirence it when I was fine
Scary ey?
Yeah II happens to me quite a lot x
it's just a muscle spasm. no biggie
Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency. The first symptoms of deficiency can be subtle – as most magnesium is stored in the tissues, leg cramps, foot pain, or muscle 'twitches' are common signs.
Take some !!
Mate think I'm gonna ditch them amitriptyline as I'm not sleeping anymore and get some mag in m me 👍🏻
Well mag helps you sleep and you haven't had any for a good while so you won't sleep that well for a few days. You'll also suffer from twitching more because you uped your body's intake and now dropped it. It will settle down eventually, but you won't be like you were when taking it.
You should also start to feel a bit more hyper and worrying more because mag keeps you calm and positive thinking because it's an anti depressant, without it you be the opposite but your meds might help there.
Told ya, I wouldn't take em, pills that is !!.
A mag tab will sort you out and within an hour you'll feel completely different, less anxious, more positive, and NO twitching !!.
Your choice.
Is is muscle twitches ? or just a sporadic jump ? It makes a difference
I don't know lol
Usually twitches are harmless. Stress can be a factor. Muscle twitches are when the muscle is twitching. That could be more serious if it happens on a constant basis, and followed by muscle cramps.
It what way can it be more serious.
Yh I'm intrigued as it go against all I've read
It's mostly nothing - I had twitches for years and I don't want to worry you. Muscle twitches would need to be constant and followed by weekness and muscle pain tp be serious. So I would not want to worry you and put something in your head that you do not have.
I can understand the weakness in the muscle being a serious implication, but twitching and cramping can be numerous things. Even muscle weakness could be simple nerve damage.
It's best not to make such sweeping general comments like that on a public forum where health anxiety can be prevalent.
If you read my message I said twitching is most likely harmless., It's only serious if it is accompanied by weakness and muscle cramps and that is a fact. The three symptoms together muscle twitches, weakness, and twitching can be a serious underlying condition which myself was thought to have 2 years ago until I got all kinds of test, It's not one symptom that's the problem, it's the combination.
I started my reply by saying twitching is most likely nothing and I have had them for years. That comment right there puts a person at ease. But the truth is the combination of those symptoms I mentioned above could be a serious underlying condition and if you googled it you would see for yourself.
And this serious underlying condition is ?
It's best coming from the horses mouth as to speak than a search engine.
Well said
Yep I have them, mostly at night. I was told anxiety makes your muscles constantly tense and if you've been tense for a long time your muscles can twitch when they are starting to relax because they are not used to it. I never had twitches until I tried citalapram though which gave me horrendous anxiety, twitching/jolting and panic attacks.
Maybe if I had kept taking them I would of eventually felt better, I don't know?? Only tried them for 4 days.
Tried amitriptyline which didn't stop the twitching but gave me the worst diarrhea i've ever had and made me pass out (week 6). Tried propranalol which did stop the twitching but still felt terrible every morning and was shivering and going freezing cold a lot and made me wheezy (asthma)
On mirtazapine now which gives me restless leg syndrome and makes my IBS worse.
On a lower dose now and it's not so bad.
Still feel horrible in the mornings, face tense and stinging, extreme fatigue and twitching is back. (but no where near as bad as I was)
I hate taking tablets
Things that I think are helping me are drinking more water throughout the day.
Going for a 30 min walk every day and using a relaxation app every night before I go sleep.
Pzizz on android is the best one I've found.
If you're thinking of stopping amytriptyline I would suggest coming off them slowly (lowering dose over a month)
I stopped taking them straight away after passing out and my anxiety got really bad.
Going to give mag a try.
There's a chap on here davewavy1 who swears by mag and is very useful if u ever need any info, these ad tabs are really bad and yes I'm seeing a doc today about coming off
Dave my left rib twitch has vanished....... well he packed up and moved around to my right back lol
Sure these aren't just tired muscles, ya getting old now bud....Lol
I used to like u 😒 Lol, more than Likely lol
I'll be having less of that used too boy !!
What you need to do is make some Magnesium oil and spray it on your twitching muscles. It absorbs directly into the muscle.
You have a home bargains store opening in Norwich on the 29th i checked. They sell Magnesium flakes and Epsom salts for £2.49.
Epsom salts go in your bath and flakes you make oil out of.
Will help your twitching old bag muscles a lot !!
Where's this store and what's it called, read a few people mentioning bath salts? They good?
