Scared: I'm so scared my heart did something... - Anxiety Support
Scared
I've had that thump before!! I have palpitations / flutters but had never had that thump before. It didn't do it again and went back on beating. I'm like you I can feel everything my heart does it seems. I'm sorry you are scared. I will pray for you when I'm throwing one up for me too... I also have travel anxiety and have a new job that includes travel! I'd be ok but I don't like the person I'm having to ride with a whole lot. He gives me extra stress. Hang in there and if makes you feel better go to the doctor. (I haven't read so I don't know if you have or not). I've been to tons. I still am having a hard time though but I have OCD also which makes it even harder to overcome I feel. You aren't alone my friend.
My heart does that too. The flutter now and then, the big/hard beat and the palpitations. With the right meds, that too will come right. I've been for ECG's and my heart is fine. For more than one actually.
What also helps me is the breathing in deep, in and out through my nose.
The heart beating is quite scary, trust me, I know. Try very hard to stay calm and relaxed.
Stay well.
Thank you! I've also been for a ECG before and everything was good but
I have the hard beats often also . Mine is due from pvcs and pacs which causes 2 beats together then a pause and then a hard thump . Ive had them for 2 years already sometimes they get better then sometimes they arw worse . Depends on my anxiety levels . Sometimes it causes me to get short of breath . Im just glad to know that there are people out there like me ☺☺
Sounds like a heart palpatstion which are very common and completely normal but if you're worried go to a dr and get it checked out.
Also try a big cough when it happens or a glass of iced water. Either we reset the rhythm and your beats will return to normal... unless you start worrying in which case you'll trigger an adrenalin responce and likely have more palpatations. Either way 99.9% of the time nothing is physically wrong
Hi T123
The same thing happens to me, i also suddenly stop breathing( only for approx 1-2 seconds) then i take a huge deep breath
These things even happen when i'm just at home sitting down or lying in bed , i don't even have to be remotely anxious!
My GP sent me to the hospital and they did loads of test's which all came back clear so i have no idea what causes it but it is exactly as what happens when i calm down and come out of a panic attack
If your really worried go and talk to your GP
If you ever find out what the cause is post and let me know😊
Try not to worry, as we all know that only makes all these strange symptoms even worse
