I find that celery calms my nerves. When I'm feeling anxious all day, I eat celery and it calms me down and takes the foggy out of body feeling away. It works Wonders for me after a long day of fighting anxiety.
Keeping celery in the fridge: I find that... - Anxiety Support
Keeping celery in the fridge
I have never heard of that before....my FEAR is very grabbing especially when my irregular heart beat is in full swing for hour upon hour and not stopping. Makes you wonder what good beta blockers are....so very hard to try to sleep when it feels like something is hitting your chest wall at very irregular times...like tonight.....unfortunately no anti anxiety med will help that fear.
I can't imagine trying to sleep like that. I'm sorry you have to go through that. Hopefully you'll find some peace tonight and get a good nights rest.
Thank you. How I wish I was like some people I know who say "what will be will be"......bottom line for me is my horrible fear of death....the duration it takes until it would be over and your mind would no longer know.....even the phsyciatrist doesn't know what to do with me......I'm done like a dinner.
Drink lots of water and get a good magnesium and potassium supplement - the heart NEEDS these 2 minerals to regulate heart beat!!
unfortunately both I did try at one time but were in large capsule form and I have never been able to swallow pills, I chew them and open capsules. When I go to see the naturopath I have heard they now can do IV vitamins and minerals....that would be perfect for me if so!
Too much potassium is detrimental to the well-being of the heart. Magnesium is simply the current fad. It is always better to research how much of these minerals are contained in the food we eat rather than taken as a supplement. One average sized banana contains all the potassium the heart requires as daily dose. One average sized banana is, however, all that diabetic individuals require since that one medium sized banana contains the equivalent of six teaspoons of sugar. My diabetic specialist nurse whom I have known now for several years and whose sense of humour is absolutely in tune with my own will say when I attend appointments, 'four inches, five inches, one, two or three this week John?' since when we first met she asked me what size the bananas are that I buy on a regular basis. I remarked that I didn't carry with me any kind of measuring device when shopping! There's a Monty Python sketch reflecting a similar thing without bananas, though, the title of which escapes me at the moment.
It's called placebo affect if you believe if it's gonna help you calm down then it will it's all it's all what in your head.. For instance if you believe a tic tac is gonna calm you down then it will no disrespect but it's all apart of anxiety I get the same way I believe drinking hot calamine will calm me down and benadryl before I got to bed it's helps me because I believe it helps me.. Im glad you found something that helps you everyone is different..
Hi Tanae, The benefits of celery is not all in your mind. I was amazed by the benefits that celery has. It's a muscle relaxant. Contains Tryptophan that helps the body create Serotonin. It has nerve calming properties, It reduces stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. It also has a magnesium content that helps promote a calming effect.
Sooo, keep that celery near by. Apparently, you found a healthy snack with benefits....
I originally bought them for a mood boosting smoothie I saw online but didn't use them. I couldn't really eat so I was just eating fruits and vegetables here and there to keep something in my body and one night I had a panic attack. When I go in to panic I need to drink or eat anything to calm me down. I grabbed the celery and I felt so relaxed after lol so it's been my go to snack when I go in to panic mode.
Tanae, what a stroke of luck that you happened to pick celery. I'll have to try it myself. Wishing you continued success in feeling calm. x
