I do, amongst other things, it's so annoying! Every time i go out for food, (only just started just managing) it makes me uncomfortable etc. It's preventing me from going out a lot.

Yep! I have terrible anxiety and constantly getting abdominal pains from which i have been told is due to anxiety. Do you constantly worry that your abdominal problems might be from something worse, other than the anxiety?

Yeah mine is high up enough too, on the right hand side directly under my rib cage. It's swollen and hardened compared to all other areas of my abdomen. I get weird feelings and sensations in it, especially after eating. Makes me wondering if it is anxiety causing it why is nowhere else swollen?

I am, and currently i have it and cause me sleepless for 3 days now of too much worry. I will go to my gastro again today: (

Anxiety can play havoc with the digestive system, it aggregates ibs and often causes depression, I take lansoprazole for my stomach as I produce alot of acid, keeping a food diary can help identify certain foods that may be triggers too, I use youtube for relaxation, theres lot's of relaxation videos, I love the audio books on there too, takes your mind of things, I'm recovered from my fears of anxiety, but I understand completely how it can affect you, I still get the odd day of feeling slightly out of sorts, but nothing compared to how I used to feel, my bad day's are very few. Type up "relaxation" on youtube, there's usually something that suits everyone, try the audio books too, there great, I used to search through till I found a readers voice that I liked, works wonders lol xxx

posting a link to symptoms of B12 deficiency just in case other things ring bells.

if you think it looks likely then I suggest that you join the PASoc forum on HU as getting a diagnosis and adequate treatment can be quite tricky if you have a prolem with B12 absorption

Yes. I have irritable bowel and have always had anxiety, worsening in the last couple of years with a few big stressors.

I have done a FODMAP elimination and reintroduced foods slowly and can now handle a lot more than i could. I still completely avoid onion and a handful of other foods, and limit others like wheat, but overall i have had a great improvement.

It makes total sense to have your gut irritated by anxiety. Anxiety causes our body to ready itself for fight/flight/freeze, as it is perceiving a threat... When there isn't one. Our body gets the blood pumping to where it is needed for the F/F or F... To the vital organs, enhancing your senses (hence sometimes things can seem too loud, or other senses can seem overwhelming) to make you a fighting machine. In doing so it takes that blood flow away from the gut and the body no longer focuses on digesting, as that takes can only happen well when relaxed, not running etc. Hence why some people feel queasy or vomit. Your body is prioritising.

Doing things like mindful breathing can help break this as it feeds back to your body that there isn't a threat and to calm right down. Open your fists to flat hands, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw... It all tells your body it doesn't need to be on high alert.
