There are sooooo many forms of meditation and videos out there. APPS too. I wonder which generally works best for anxiety and panic? They all seem to stress deep breathing....the one common denominator. Is there any difference between TM and other forms of Meditation?

Best Meditation?
Hi DylanD,
I don't the answer to your question unfortunately, but...
I have been doing some meditation on a Buddhist site, where it's basically all about quiet and mindfulness, they do mention breathing, yes but not to the extent some do.
I find it really hard to do the deep breathing when I am in a anxiety state, in fact it makes me worse.
Also Google Michael Sealey, he is very good.

Thanks Jen.....
Which Buddhist site do you use? I didn't think the deep breathing was helping ....and as you say, it sometimes makes me feel worse too. But I've read that it takes lots of practice.....one site said to do it for a few minutes every hour. I suppose this strengthens that breathing "diaphragm" muscle which, in turn, would make deep breathing more effective.

Hi Dylan,
I listen to a guy called Mingyur Rinpoche.
The main reason is this Buddhist Monk suffered from anxiety and panic, he tells you his story. Just put his name in Youtube and you'll find many things from him, I suscribed and get lots of new things from his site.
The meditation of his that I listen to every day is " Guided meditation on the body, space and awareness.
Also "Detatchment from over thinking" Michael Sealey is good too.

You're welome. It might take a few listens to get used to his voice x
