Simple. Apply the knowledge you learn from the book. No half measures, no putting up with it, no avoiding it, no blocking it out. Commit yourself to feeling everything anxiety has to offer (disturbing thoughts, physical symptoms etc...it's all completely harmless and won't be there when you recover) and not doing anything about them. Don't get involved and just observe it all. It isnt easy (as the book says) and there are likely to be lots of ups and downs along the way but the more you apply the knowledge, the easier it will become as the symptoms gradually fade away. Your attitude changes from being afraid of the symptoms to one of complete disdain. You lose your respect towards the symptoms and no longer fear them. When there is no fear, recovery is inevitable but will take time while your mind and body adjusts itself to your change in attitude.

This all takes a bit of practice but it is entirely possible. Make your life bigger than anxiety and no matter how you feel, take it with you. It will eventually get bored and leave you. Keep moving forward. Don't force it, be patient and recovery will find you. Believe me.
