Hello everyone. I haven't been on this site long. I've never been on any support site but finally decided to. The people on here are fantastic & I've read quite a few things that have helped me SO much! I've also seen a few people suggest reading something by Claire Weekes. I wasn't sure which book to buy or if there was one in particular that people liked the most. I ordered the Hope & Help For Your Nerves. I can't wait to start reading it.
Bought a Claire Weekes book. : Hello... - Anxiety Support
Bought a Claire Weekes book.
Great ..I have this and self help for your nerves .. had them for about 15 years and still refere and re-read ..
You chose the right book, Kel76, that was the first book she wrote (it's titled 'Self help for your nerves' in the U.K). In it she sets out her method for recovery from anxiety disorder. It was written a long time ago but has withstood the test of time. Basically her method depends on doing the opposite to what you're probably doing now. Stop fighting the symptoms of your anxiety. Accept them completely (for the moment). Stop trying to avoid the symptoms, let them come and pass through them. Don't look for a quick fix, let time pass.
I'll say no more except to welcome you to a group of kindred spirits who advise each other, support each other and encourage each other as we travel hopefully along the Yellow Brick Road to recovery🤗
I know this book will help you it's helped me more than any other she was the most wonderful lady She suffered herself so knew what she was talking about I guarantee you will be "floating" very soon You'll know what I mean when you get the book 😊
All the very best x
I really hope it helps. It's a great book that helped me in the past aswell as her audios which you can get on iTunes or Audible by the way.
Good luck.

Excellent book to read Kel! I've read that one several times as well and refer back to it when needed. You're right, the people are here are wonderful and supportive!
It gives you insight into what’s going on with your nerves and how to deal with it. I like it.
