Mzemma01, Zoloft is an SSRI that takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks to reach full potency in your body. You are bound to feel worse before feeling better. The brain needs time to adjust to the medication as well as dosage. Anxiety will eventually go away, unfortunately it's a matter of trial and error on what works best for you. Have a talk with your prescribing doctor.

Mzemma01, I know it isn't easy but what are the alternatives? This is a chance for you to not stay "stuck" with the symptoms of anxiety. It may be what you need for a short time to get you over the bump in the road. Usually therapy is recommended while going on a drug to help you better accept and learn how to move forward. Try to give it a little time. Anything worth while takes time and effort.

Give Zoloft a chance to work. I've been on it a couple years now and I'm afraid to go off it. I don't ever want to feel the anxiety and PTSD symptoms I felt before taking Zoloft. It was awful! Unfortunately, it's not fast acting like Xanax or Ativan. I use my Ativan for a quick fix when I'm feeling a lot of anxiety. If the doctor prescribed Xanax to you it's ok to take daily. What does the bottle say about how often you should take it? Keep your head up. It's not easy, and it's hard to believe right now when you feel so bad, but I promise it will get better. ❀

Zoloft made me really sick and worse too. Wellbutrin did the same thing. Ugh... feel soooo bad for you. Call your dr right away. Hopefully they'll find something else that will work for you. Keep us posted.
