Experiences with escitalopram as a young adult

Hi everyone

My psychiatrist has prescribed me escitalopram 10mg for GAD, OCD and some starting depression.

But the thing is, I read that it is not recommended for people <25yo, because they suffer more from suicidal thoughts. I'm only 19yo, so I'm a bit afraid about this.

Any experiences?

Hi Laura221, It's best to talk over your concerns with the psychiatrist. It is stated that most SSRI drugs MAY cause some concern for those under 25yr old not just Escitalopram. Your doctor is the best judge of medication knowing your issues as well as age. Have faith, it has been a good drug for me for 6 years.
