My doctor changed me onto these today after only being on 1 dose of venlafaxine but having severe side effects yesterday that I'm still kind of feeling today. I've to start these new ones tomorrow at 2.5mg for 5 days then up to 5mg for another 5 days then up to 10mg.

I'm now scared to try these after the way I was after taking the venlafaxine. Was hoping some of you could give me honest experiences of this medication. Also will it give me an appetite. I've not ate in 4 days, well today was the first day I've ate but only managed 2 bananas and a few jelly babies and a cup of sugary tea so I'm still rather shaky with that also. I can't afford to lose weight due to being slightly underweight already so I really need my appetite back. Thanks in advance.

samjam1992, I think your doctor is being very cautious is slowly upping your dose of Lexapro. I started on 10mg and then upped to 15mg where I have stayed for the last 4 years. For me, it's been an unbelievable medication with no side effects. When first starting on this med, I was given a Protein Shake to supplement my diet. Once the pill reach full efficacy, I got my appetite back and stopped the protein shake. I wish you well and hope you start feeling better soon x

Do u still have panic or anxiety or was your meds for depression? They seem to work better for depression.

Hi I'm on 20mg of same meds. A few side effects. I coped on them fine for many years. I weaned off then had a break down now back on. 8 weeks in still feeling anxiety and depression. Worked fine first time around but I think after the breakdown my fear has multiply. Now trying psych as well but meds weren't enough. Basically for u don't be scared to try. It takes a few weeks and sometimes has the same symptoms as how u feel until they get in your system. Good luck and message me if u want. 👍

Thanks ladies. I'm just really scared but this constant anxiety is taking it's toll. Especially during the night and first thing in the morning when I get woken with my heart pounding and feeling sick and sweaty palms. I've now realised it's just anxiety and I'm not going to did but it doesn't seem to help calm me down
