Hi nathan022, did you have your CBT 5 days ago? Could that be what uplifted you in having a few good days? If so, one session won't do it, but it's a start in the right direction. We all have loved ones who have passed and it hurts but we need to focus on the good times we had with them. It's a part of life we have no control over. You do however, have control over your life and how you want to live it. After all, life is for the living. How we chose to spend it is our decision.
I know I'm not sure what's going on its up and down all the time I just want to be back to myself again π
Nathan, that's how anxiety gets us. It's an up and down, unexpected feeling. In that it keeps us in a state of suspense. That's what GAD is, a free floating anxiety. If you are in CBT, give it your all. Work with the therapist in moving forward. You will one day be yourself again. Learn from CBT and use the tools that may best help you. Even when taking medication, it is a work in progress. Nothing worth while happens easily. Keep using the forum for support as well.
I get like that too but I have learned to start thinking positive as soon as the bad thoughts kick in. It's hard to explain how it helps but it does. I guess I just tell myself that they are only thoughts and won't harm me and I manage to think positive again.

It's horrible it really is I try doing all the right things working out working seeing family and the feelings are up and down constant I just want to enjoy my life π
Me too and it is hard but keep at it and it will get better.
I go to gym, draw, listen to music and read and they all help me.
another good thing for stress is to eat 1-2 bananas per day, look up on google the effects of them on anxiety.
This is how I feel too. Thanks for your reply on my post. I try so hard work, see friends excerise but got a feeling of dread and death. How's your cbt? What techniques do they use?
I know the feeling so hard constantly fighting your thoughts tbh I found music exercise reading and meditation better than any cbt if I'm honest
My cbt is to accept the thought and draw my attention back to the moment keep working on that dnt run with the thought. If it was a guarantee our soul continues when we die I would be fine I just need reassurance that it's not final that is too sad. I am 28 and feel too young to think like this you are 22? I felt very safe at that age I am now more aware I'm 30 soon. I asked my friend how is 38 if she thought about death and she said not really she said life is for the taking and she never been happier at 38 she said to grab life by the horns. Sounds good
