Opinions? And success? I told my doctor I don't want to take a medication everyday and he gave me this as needed.
Hydroxyzine??: Opinions? And success? I told... - Anxiety Support
Hydroxyzine??
It's a sedating antihistamine like piriton. Available over the counter without prescription
I take it.. I told my doctor the same thing. I don't want to deal with mood stabilizers or anything like that. They would probably give me a symptom and I would think something serious was wrong like anything else does. I like it. I think it helps. I also don't think there is any way you can take too much like with xanex. It seems harmless as meds go and it helps. It also helps with nausea and allergies so win win win!
Do you take it a night only or during the day too? I tried it for the first time and it did help my anxiety but made me kinda tired.
I just take it as needed. If I'm feeling panicked or I start freaking out over a random pain. I haven't noticed it making me more tired but I also have vitamin d deficiency which makes me feel tired anyway. Mama1204 is right though it can affect everyone differently. If you don't like it there may be something else you can try that will interact with your body better
I was prescribed this, and it's what started my brain tumor fear. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought I'd give you my experience. Remember that medications affect all of us differently, so the same thing that happened to me, may not happen to you at all.
It made my head feel extremely heavy, and just weird. It freaked me out which in turn, made my panic attacks worse. I was prescribed 25mg and was only able to take 1/4 of the tiny pills to stop my attacks. But they'd come right back because of the aftermath of the medication and what it did to my body. It's known, from what I've been told by my Dr's, to make your head feel a little woozy. For someone with health anxiety, this was no good for me. I recently, on Tuesday actually, got prescribed 2.5mg of xanax instead. I take 1/4 of one of those each time I have an attack and feel so much better. My anxiety is still extreme, but not like it was. Just be careful and take notice the first time you feel unpleasant. Call your dr and ask for them to change it. I also declined antidepressants
