Anxiety problems

Hi , I've suffered from depression for a short time but I am now currently suffering from anxiety. I worry everyday over the smallest of things from people in my life to work. This constant worrying isn't good for me, I need to stop but I don't know how. I would really appreciate it, if anyone could give me some tips and advice.

Mindfullness meditation, physical exercise, Headspace, Mood gym. Socialising, avoid ruminations, replaying past events in your head, learn to let thoughts pass by without affecting you etc

Stuck in a washing machine of thoughts going round and round ?

Can't think straight, can't concentrate ?

Just like your minds in a fog ?

Yep really suffered with depression and anxiety myself and without realising it had come on over quite a long period due to bereavements, health scare and made worse by the fact I knew I was going down but didn't know how to turn it around.

First step was knowing I had a problem, as others will tell you, you are the last to know ! But friends family etc would not want to broach it with you.

Personally I went to my Gp who straight away went yes ! Your suffering depression and stress related anxiety, she referred me to the local health and wellbeing clinic for some counselling.

In basic terms spilling your guts as to how you feel takes a weight of your shoulders, I didn't feel I could talk in the same way to friends and family and a professional can help you reason why you feel as you do.

Silly things I found that helped was getting out and making sure I had 15 minutes walking with my dogs every day helped, nowt to think about other than walking the dogs.

Making sure I ate properly three times a day... without realising I had stopped doing so.

Setting my days also helped, making sure I am up at 8 and in bed by 11 Having a proper nights sleep s one of the best advances.

Last and not least, I found I could not get decent sleeps due to the thought washing machine being on spin ! Could not relax at all due to this anxiety !

A massive help was using YouTube based relaxation and grounding meditation programmes, worked well for me to the point arms legs and quilt soon started feeling relaxed and heavy, the programmes where 20 minutes long I don't think I got beyond 10 minutes !

Hope this ramble helps ! :-)

Guided Meditation - Blissful Deep Relaxation

If you search for that on you tube the one with the waves in the picture certainly works for me.

Normally take my iPad with me to bed and if you concentrate on the narrative voice and do as it says you might find it helpful

Hi, I know what you mean because I have my days when the littlest things I worry about. What I found that helped me is thinking about being under God's protection and guidance. His plan for you is for you to live a full and joyful life. Jesus is holding you in the palm of His hand and God is holding Jesus. Read Psalm 91 (New King James Version). It is about being under God's protection. And Psalm 139 about God knowing everything about you even before you were born and His plans for you. Be at peace and rest in God's protection. I'm praying for you.
