Anxiety after general anesthesia
Hi Frankrod. I had this after a rather light anaesthetic last year. It really did mess with my anxiety also and the depersonalisation that I have occasionally and feelings of unreality went through the roof. I used tai chi to help balance it all. It takes about 6 weeks for anaesthetic to leave your system. Try juicing, apple, celery, ginger and carrot to help your liver and kidneys clear it out too. I think it's a fairly common thing for sensitive people. Hope all of this helps. Let me know how you go.
I can totally relate to this..I had 6 teeth removed under general and it really messed with my anxiety.
Initially I thought I had an adverse reaction to the anathesia as I was feeling constantly dizzy and nauseaus.
As obi 64 said the anathesia effect stays in your system for many weeks, however it does get better.
Hope this helps x
Hi Frankrod, it's nearly 7 months since I had mine for an emergency operation. It did affect me in lots of ways.even now I don't feel like my memory has recovered. I have to have sedation again on 30th December, I am dreading it because of how I might feel after it. What really makes me sad is the fact the medical team don't have time to talk with you about it!! And explain how it might affect you afterwards. Plus I've heard it can deplete some of your vitamins so I would ask for a blood test to check all is ok. Get a print out of your results too so you can see for yourself. You may need supplements 👍
