Hiya, first question, have you seen a doctor about this? Second question, is there anything that has happened to you in the past week that could have worsened your anxiety?
Take slow deep breaths and close your eyes. Take yourself to somewhere that you are relaxed, whether thats in your loves arms or on a tropical island, imagine your heart and imagine it slowing right down till its beating slowly and evenly.
The more you worry about the tremors and your sore chest, the worse it will get. It's very important that you calm. The sore chest is because your heart is tightening due to your anxiety, in order to relieve this you must slow your heart rate and relax.
Hello Kimbo
Just been looking and it is a couple of years since you last posted , how have you been doing in the last few years ok ?
Has something changed recently that may have brought this on or maybe you might feel it has been building up till it has got to this stage . I know this has happened to me in the past , I have thought I can cope and then wham it has come back and feels worse than before !
It is awful though when we get bad flare up's like this and yes I can relate about feeling glued to the chair while the whole of your body feels like it is hanging on for dear life and we are so tense even our jaw feels like it is in a vice
Of course the more we feel these things the more tense we get and then the cycle just keeps going round
Try and concentrate really hard , make sure you are in a quite room where no one can disturb you , close you eyes and take in how when you are tense how your body feels , any pain in your limbs , that feeling of everything feeling so tight , then once you have that try and first let one finger relax , then another and so on till your hands flop and then do the same with your arms until your whole body is relaxed and as it is take in how that feels , this should hopefully show you that the feelings you are having is anxiety and what difference you feel between anxiety and when your body is more relaxed , if you can try and keep practicing this the moment you feel your body tensing you can learn to relax it again quickly before you get to the stage you are at now
Remember the more we panic the more the anxiety keeps hold and also telling yourself this will not harm you as unpleasant as it feels and it will pass
Try and get up and do little things despite how bad you feel this starts to let the anxiety know we are not going to let it beat us we are taking back the control
Hope you can maybe have a nice warm relaxing bath , practice some relaxing techniques , good nights maybe in front of the TV and a good nights sleep
Take Care x
I know this is probably the last thing you want to do but exercise it will release all the over producing stress hormones. The internal shaking is because of the overload of stress hormones and exercise helps flush them from your body. Vigorous exercise is best but that might be hard right now do try a long fast walk or a long bike ride. Even something simple like table tennis you need to start somewhere and work your way up then after exercise try to do something relaxing like a magnesium bath, guided meditation or simply watching your fav tv shows something funny would e good to make you laugh.
Hope you feel better soon
I have recently fallen in love with weighted blankets. I’m an occupational therapist and have been educated on them and researched them quite a bit before purchasing and I have to say they are VERY effective. I also love diffusing lavender oil and combining lavender with water and spraying myself with it. Heating pads also work wonders as does a hot bath. In addition to my lexapro, these are some extra supports I use daily
Oh and try to go to bed and get up the same time each day! Has made a difference in my quality of sleep and therefore my daily anxiety
