I took 4 pills of ativan before. My friend gave me some. They take about 20 minutes to kick in. But all my symptoms disappeared when I took it. Just be careful they very addictive. Some people struggle coming off it. It should only be used in emergencies

I take 1 mg of Ativan as needed, up to 3 times daily. I have not tried Kolonopin, but I have heard that it is better than Ativan as far as longevity in body. I only take the Ativan if I am having a panic attack or I am so stressed and anxious that I am on the brink of an attack. I hope the Ativan helps you. Peace and Love be with you.

Hello Sunshine

I really really hate giving scare stories so I apologise straight away to anyone who is going to berate me for doing so

I know what it's like to have anxiety and feel desperate for things to help

I became addicted to Ativan and the withdrawal from them took 5 awful months It was back in the dark days when doctors just gave out repeat prescriptions without any reviews

Please only take them for emergencies like other people on here have advised

I got well after I stopped them

I wouldn't wish anyone to go through what I did

Easy for me to say but please try more natural methods like relaxation etc it worked for me

All the best

Good advice!!! Also people react differently to the same drugs so must use common sense when taking any mess and talk about any concerns with a professional (and I don't mean drug dealer 😁) I have not been on these messages so could not comment on, but don't be afraid to tell doctors/psychiatrists that drugs don't work... But do give time to get into your system before complaining, we all want our illness gone yesterday but unfortunately we have to be patient!

I went through hell trying to get off Ativan My doctor just dished them out year after year and I was so ill I just took them It was so bad I couldn't even go in the garden without them in my pocket and I learnt to swallow them without water I was so hooked as I was running out each month I was terrified the doctor wouldn't give me anymore

I wouldn't wish it on anyone although it is better now with doctors they would review it often

Yes we all want anxiety gone yesterday

Good news is it does go and its the best feeling ever

I suffer recurrent clinical depression, I feel lucky now that it comes in bouts and with treatment now lasts 3-3.5 months which is a great improvement on18-26 months.

Glad you kicked the meds stay happy. Steve😁

Well took my first Ativan last night. It sent me into the worst panic attack I've ever had. My husband got scared and took me to the er. Which I didn't want to do. The Drs there ended up calling me a psyc patient and referring my to a psychiatrist. It pissed me off bc they acted like I'm crazy. I know what crazy is bc I also work in a hospital. I'm just stressed .... I'm buying and have 2 small kids which cause anxiety. At this point I'm gonna try to do this without medication. Excersise and put my mind elsewhere. We close on our house soon so I'm hoping as soon as that's over I can feel better! Thanks to all

Sorry to see that you had to go to the ER, your American? at least over here it doesn't cost anything to get treatment! Sure we have to pay for our prescriptions /script for meds but that is only £9 ish. For a months supply and in Wales it is free!! (Good old national health, although a lot of people abuse it here and don't appreciate how good it is) Don't beat yourself up about the daily things, everyone get stressed when moving house and with having two young kids and working.... They just hide it better!!! Or don't care! 😵

You obviously care to much what other people think.. But that is a good thing😁 slow down a bit, life is becoming to fast, money orientated, media led propaganda and spin, selfish and no community spirit anymore, step out, be different, be your own person... Nobody has the right to gudgeon other people, we are here a short enough time as it is... The only certainties are, we are born and let's face it (in the words of iron maiden) as soon as we're born we're dieing, it's what we do in between that counts... Plus there are no pockets in shrouds and if you die owing money you've made a profit. . 😂Steve

I have been taking lorazepam, the generic for Ativan for over 17 yrs. I had breast cancer and couldn't sleep so my dr prescribed it for me at night. I only take .5mg but it allows me to sleep through the night. Due to my life circumstances, I have a anxiety during the day. Only once is a while will I take a lorazepam during the day. I have tried all kinds of other antidepressants and I really hate them all. I would like to get into some good therapy but I feel our system is broken. I am on Medicare and have an advantage plan but no one wants to take my insurance. After the first of the year I am going to go to a YMCA and exercise along with yoga. I have been told this is so important.
