I need help again. Having a panic attack right now. Can't sleep and I am shaking and dizzy. I am laying down too..... I don't know what brings this feeling on and I wish I could control it. It is hard to do on my own.

Do you live with anyone? If so ask for some help, get up and make yourself some tea like calming tea or drink some warm water with lemon slice. Citrus fruits helps me usually. But if you want to sleep chamomile is recommended.
If the attack persists just try and deep count to 10 breaths...slowly in and slowly out. Too much rapid breathing will increase carbon dioxide which makes the panic worse.
If you can put some meditation breathing exercises on while laying down and listen to it while trying to breath slowly.
I know is scary and uncomfortable but it will slowly pass.
Important is to try and not continue to look at your physical symptoms and focus on breathing slowly.

Thanks and my husband lives with me but works night shift. My two kids are in bed at nine o clock every weeknight so I can't do nothing after that time. I pretty much suffer with my illness while feeling like my husband don't understand nor care. He thinks it is easy to control my breathing when I hyperventilate, and I can't control my breathing. It is so hard to do this on my own. I have GOD on my side but it's still hard to handle until it goes away. My attacks have lasted two hours before and tonight it took an hour an a half to even feel okay. I wish my doc would give me something to help me with this issue.... I can give others advise but its hard to take my own advise. Do you ever feel that way?? I don't know how to make tea because I never drank it. Do you think I should drink it hot or cold and what should I put in it? What kind should I get to help with anxiety attacks??? I need something because I can't even sleep I am so scared of my fears.
I can relate believe me I know it seems like your never going to control it. But you will just be patient.
I recommend you talk to Doctor and explain that you can sleep and the attacks. I did cognitive therapy to help control the anxiety and highly recommend it. But sometimes you will also need a bit of help from medication again speak to your doctors. It may be they prescribe a mild sleeping aid or a beta blocker which slows down your heart rate so you don't feel the heart rate but again all depends on what you need anf they can help.
When it comes to your partner. I know it sounds like he doesn't get it and maybe he just doesn't get it because you haven't explained it what you need from him, i did the same with my partner, I told him that just tell me to calm down makes it worse! But it's a learning curve for both of you and you will find your way of expressing what you need and making it work. Putting it all in the open and talking about what is happening it will put things into perspective. If that doesn't work again go into therapy and they will help to make sense of it all.
Tea is usually boiling water and you can add a slice of lemon and honey for example an drink it when is cooler and a good temperature that you can sip it. Same thing with chamomile tea bags.
If you can't make tea just a simple warm water with the slice of lemon will do to keep spirits up I do this during the day and it helps a little. Chamomile is good hot/warm.
You mention fears, I think agaib speaking wirh a therapist will really help you, it's not a quick fix I'm afraid it's a journey but believe me that if you start treating it you will manage it and feel happier.

Hi. I sympathise as I have been going through the same thing. Been to hospital in ambulance several times etc.
Get the doctor to give you some propranalol medication. This will calm you down, block adrenaline and help you feel normal. Over the long term you may need some anti anxiety meds like Citalopram (the initial side effects were hell but I got through it.) I also started swimming when I was able and have also started a yoga class and online CBT therapy. I am battling my anxiety head on with everything I know that can disable it and finally after 4 months of feeling ill and having panic attacks I seem to be winning the war. I felt suicidal at times because I lost my life and I am a very active outdoors kind of guy. I found myself bed ridden at its worst for nearly a month because I felt terribly sick everyday, I lost a stone in weight and couldn't stop shaking, was weak and dizzy. I have relearned how to breath properly again from the belly. (Google belly breaths) and I can more or less control any returning anxiety symptoms. The propranalol is great if you just need to relax and take a break from the symptoms of anxiety. Hope you join us in winning the battle with anxiety. Just remember that you can't die from this and the symptoms just feel bad. Let them do their thing, lay down, think positive things, and do the calm breathing. I breath in slowly raising my tummy, hold my breath for 6 seconds and slowly exhale. Do this fit a few mins. If will allow your heart down and send signals to your brain via your nervous system that you are not stressed but relaxed. Practice practice. Hope you get well and hope this helps.
Hi, sorry your feeling like this. The biggest thing that helped me was when the panic came again and again I would try and control it which made it bigger and more frequent. Eventually, I thought when the next panic comes I am going to face it and accept it- let it come and wash over and past you, I practiced this (!) (at home in bed) and eventually it got boring and the panic a abaited! Cbt is a good therapy, I tried some tablets from my GP but they just made we more confused. Hi there, when I needed medication it was- diazepam, now outdated? Unfortunately they made me feel Worse! I only tried them for 2 weeks or so- just didn't do it for me. Today, if my anxiety returned I would turn to yoga because they teach you how to breath properly. It wasn't until recently that I realised I had been " breathing" wrongly for years! Thanks!, I will be having a yoga half hour myself as soon as my son has gone to school! I had an uncle who was amazingly funny, every morning he would look in the mirror and say to himself he was "bloody marvellous" - he would tell everyone he was as well, he was so funny.

Ha ha! That is great. Believe it or not, I just went there and subscribed to her channel. It is really helping me breathe better. I never knew this is how we are supposed to breathe in order to relax. I really appreciate you telling me about this. I always thought yoga was for skinny people, but I am not having a problem with it...... Awesome sauce. I am going to tell my family about this..

Brett Larkin is so in the mode - I am the worlds worst person to get up and do exercise - but this I can do ( well not all of her moves). The stretching and breathing in particular are amazing. I am still on her site watching and trying to get flexible. LOL! I am not flexible at all but I am trying. I was lazy when it comes to exercising myself but this is something I think I could get used to with practice....
That's so good, I usually watch her at first and sometimes I sit and watch through the hard bits too! Amazingly, after a week I remember I could do what I couldn't the week before! There is one breathing lesson which is so amazing I have never seen anyone do the deep breathing like that before. The best thing is it gives you wellbeing and energy! Have funxxxxx
just breath inhale 4 counts hold 7 counts and exhale 8 counts. Remeber its the exhaling that is more important .....you will be ok
