Hello
The only thing with these meds is that they can take a couple of months before they really start taking effect and working so the fact you are still not feeling great is normal
Could you maybe go back to the Doctors and tell them how you feel and about the Holiday , they may prescribe you just a few Diazapam to help you till the other meds kick in , I know many do not want to take them through the fear of getting addicted but just a few short term they can be a life saver !
Talk with your Husband let him know how you feel , you could maybe plan the journey where you get several breaks while you are traveling which may help if you feel you are going to keep stopping on the way down there
Please do not add the guilt that you are letting everyone down , if you were not well in any other way you would not be giving yourself such a bad time this is no different you cannot help suffering with anxiety and you are doing something about it and all you can at the moment by taking meds
Also anything maybe like a book , music , i pad to distract you on the journey ?
Let us know how you get on
Take Care x
I'm 100% with bounce maybe diazepam would help short term to bring the anxiety levels down. I was in the same position as you at the beginning and got put on citalpram but went back to get help until they kicked in! They worked well and as long as you use the diazepam properly it really can help! From my memory the citalpram took 3-4 weeks for me to feel any better but I know everyone is different! Hope you feel better soon!
hi im also on 20 mg of citalopram and ive felt a bit better with almost no pannic attacks but bounce is right it can take a while to work fully and everyone is different like mine started working almost right away. i was going to my doctors once every like 2 weeks and was dealing with meds and updating her on how i felt on them to make sure it was working properly so mabey u should go back and ask. or sometimes u can even call because if its about a medictaition the front desk will let u speak to ur doctor
Thank you for your replies. i have started taking kalms and it seems to be helping a little. I thought the Citilopram worked in a couple of weeks last time but seems to be taking longer now.
