Anyone Burp to feel better?
Hi MariSan89, you would feel better when you burp because being anxious, we tend to swallow a lot of air when eating as well as talking. By burping, it allows the trapped air to escape making you feel better. And yes, it does happen to me as well.
i thought I was the only one doing that! I've been feeling more anxious recently and noticed I've been doing it. I don't know if its also to do with the fact I get some acid reflux when I'm stressed so it almost feels like there's something there I need to bring up but usually its just gassy. X
I feel the same way i also have acid reflux and hiatel hernia
Me too i also have acid reflux ( gerd) and hiatal hernia. When whe are anxious our body tend to produce more acid thats making our acid reflux even worst.
I'm having problems burping it won't release its horrible my tummy is bloated and when I finally do burp what a good feeling but then I go back to not burping again does anyone know of this
Think this is called areophagia deffinatly worth having a google I have and still do burp a lot and pretty sure it's becuse with out realising I am due to being anxious swallowing a lot of excess air! Very painful and annoying
omg, I thought alone with this. Had this for some time now and an episode of it last night. I am going to find it very difficult to explain, but I will try.
I just feel blocked or tight all through my body at first I think I can't breath or I feel faint, but then I burp or grumble up and I start to feel strangely better. It must just be a lot of trapped air that makes you feel so odd, I even get crampy feelings with it.
Someone mentioned areophagia below in a message....worth a read. Maybe we are swallowing a lot of air because we are nervous
Hope this helps

This is very informative
Thanks Caldzie for your reply, never heard of aerophagia before, suffered for a long time...think mine is definitely due to hyperventilating
