Only now after taking a diazepam have I realized how much stress has been building up inside me.

I've got to stay focused and meditate more often. I think I was really losing myself these past couple of weeks.

Hello Dodo

I think this can happen a lot without us realizing it and it can be all the little tings that build up and up till boom we feel rubbish , you have had a few things I feel that may have been contributing to you getting to where you feel today and this can give us a small wake up call and make us realize we need to start doing what we know is good for us ( like your meditating ) because while we have been slowly letting things get on top of us we forget

Sounds like you have got somewhere with your guitar from what I have read , I think you got a good result and I hope you feel better about it all now :-)

Take Care x

I have been missing my breathing meditation exercise on a regular basis and that certainly didn't help.

Try and start making sure you give yourself that space each day Dodo to do it , if it helps it is a must :-) x

Hello.....I'm glad you were able to take a diazepam. I remember that feeling of calm that would come over me. We all need that escape for a while or like you said, the stress keeps building. I do meditate and find that helpful as well as the deep breathing. I'm passionate about that. As a matter of fact, this morning before getting out of bed, I did the meditation and then put a CD on my lower stomach and watched the CD go up and down knowing that I've aced the "belly breathing". Hope the rest of your day goes well.

The guitar guy was so great fixed neck by adjusting the nut he played a bit and it sounded great the guitar is so heavy because of quality of the wood. Today to buy a guitar will good wood cost over a grand or 700 pound at least. I deleted a bad comment i put on face about guitar selling broken but he did admit he should of checked if it worked and the grime and dust the brass frets was green thats had bad it was now I happy bunny fluids going down took chill pill had a good sleep and pain in esophagus is easing. Back to nnormal routine tomorrow with morning meditation clear the mind relax and breathe with every breathing out I relax further and further boy do I wish I know about meditation when I first started having panic attackes.

You know saying that you wished you knew about meditation back when makes me think about all the therapists I saw who stressed the important of meditation and deep breathing. I had to learn the hard way, thinking what did they know. Well, I guess they were right. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Yes Agora it took me a few breakdowns and some very bad panic attacks to realize what all my therapists was say about taking deep breaths and learning a daily routines of chilling for at least ten minutes a day went in one year out the next Learning the hard way has always been my enemy. I am trying to get my son to do it but stubbornly refuses he's so amped up all the time he will crack and learn the hard way at the moment he's been street buying diazepam.

Hi, It's strange how it builds up. Mines took years to build up. People used to tell me to relax. :-D Not great when you don't know what relaxed feels like. :-D

Meditation helps, doing something fun like watching the sun set, listening to nice music, anything that you know that makes you feel good.

The point most people don't get is how do you know what relaxed feels like if you've never been relaxed for years. :-D Even the muscle tensing and relaxing exercises can only show so much as I found that my muscles were so tight they didn't relax fully to start with and it took a couple of massages and a few deep muscle relaxation exercises to finally feel what relaxed was.

The medications are good for showing you what it feels like, but for me I didn't want to get into a cycle of relying on the medication, so I only take what I need to and I am still working of finding other ways to help with relaxation. For example last night I had acupuncture on my calves to help the muscles relax after my Half Marathon walk at the weekend. Today they feel better and not so tight. :-D

I hold all my tension when I am stressed in my neck and shoulders so will probably go for a massage and acupuncture next month to reduce the tension. I do exercises at home as well to help, but sometimes I need just a little more to easy off the tension. :-D

Really glad to hear you are working on what works for you. Set a time in your phone calendar that you know you can easily mediate at everyday and that will help remind you. :-D

Take care.

20Voices, that's the answer in working on what works for you. Each of us responds differently. I have never liked tensing and relaxing muscles. I am no longer on medication, so for me, acupuncture has help, relaxation tapes and deep breathing. Congratulations on doing the marathon walk. :) Take care xx

Hi Agora1, true we are all different and what works for one person won't work for another. I had a relaxation tape (yes the old tapes. :-D )that got me so stressed and tense that I nearly threw the tape player through the window. :-D The name's accent was awful and he sounded so board. :-D

It is good for us to share what we've tried as it can help others think whether it will work for them. I did eventually find a relaxation cd that worked for me, I loaned it to a friend and never got it back. I used to play it when I went to bed and I still don't know what the final part of the cd says as I always fell asleep listening to it. :-D

My acupuncture on my calves last night worked a treat. :-D

20voices Yea mate your so right it took me 20 odd years and advenually snapped all because i didn't know how to relax i felt normal could understand when people would say slow down take a breath or you need to chill I was amped up constantly and that caused alot of fights specially when drinking. I chewed all the skin off my knuckles on my paper round at 13 so my stress isues began early. Many folks where I lived simply dont get it because they've never been in stressful situations. Take care : ).
