I've been having really bad headaches for quite some time now. My gp prescribed 10 mg of Amitriptlyne nightly. I know I'm being silly but I'm afraid of taking the new meds. Anyone else taking this? Does it help?

There's always a fear with taking meds on here 
Be it the fear of the side effects or it being a dud and having to go through the process again with a new med

Gum on occasion. Mostly drink water and Gatorade. I very seldom drink sodas
I'm trying to watch what I eat and drink. Thank you for your advice. I really need some relief. My Dr told me not to take anymore OTC meds
