I don't know what to do. I came home earlier and sat down and after going to the toilet, I felt strange. I have anxiety, and sometimes I experience disassociation, but this was different. I felt like I wasn't breathing and my brain felt heavy and numb, almost headachey, so I decided to get into bed. After doing so, I felt numb everywhere -- I couldn't feel my legs unless I moved them, I felt like I wasn't breathing and I couldnt feel my heartbeat unless I checked my pulse at my neck. My brain still felt numb and I felt like I just wanted to close my eyes, maybe sleep, but I feel like if I do that I won't wake up and I'll die in my sleep. I'm scared but I'm not feeling panicked, so I did some Googling and foolishly read an article about a woman who felt like she was dying (the same thing as me with numbness and what have you) and made her boyfriend take her to hospital, and if she didn't go she would have died. My heart rate is currently in the 80s, so am I alright? Is it just my anxiety, or should I tell my parents? For reference I am 18 years old.

Hello
Sounds like severe anxiety but yes you should talk to your parents , tell them how you have been feeling and what you are going through
I have 3 grown up children all adults now but believe me as a Mum if I thought even now any of them was suffering in any way I would want them to tell me so I could try and help support them and I am sure your parents will no doubt be the same
Hope you get a good nights sleep and have that chat with them tomorrow , you could also go and talk with you Doctor about how you feel , there is support out there if you ask for it
The story you read which Google is the worse thing we can look on so please try and resist but that will happen to maybe one in a million and you won't be the one but your anxiety will tell you that you will making you feel worse
Let us know how you get on and if you manage to talk with your parents
Take Care x
Thank you both very much!x
Make sure you are breathing in to your stomach. You may be over breathing which can give you tingling and numbness. Heart rate in the 80s is within normal. Anxiety plays a lot of tricks with us. Calm the breathing, feel the breath and bring yourself back to the now instead of worrying about the future or past. Slow your breathing to the count of 7 seconds in and 7 seconds out. Do this a couple of times and tell yourself that you are safe. I apologise for going on about the breathing but it does calm things down when we do it correctly.
Good luck, please let us know how you get on.
Anxiety is funny like that. You don't necessarily feel anxious but your body is clearly in a state of real anxiety. I've feel just like that, it takes time to snap yourself out of it and fix the underlying issues in your life causing the anxiety
