Panic attack

Had the worst panic attack last night, was sat reading and started feeling dizzy, my head hurt and felt tingly and then my whole body started shaking and tingly. My heart was pounding and very dry mouth and it was so scary I felt weak. Had them all night with some sleep inbetween. Keep checking my heart rate today and expecting it to happen again.

Oh poo! I get that without the heart pounding as I'm on pills for my heart rhythm. People have said panic attacks doing last more than ten minutes but I have had the shaking on and off all night and the tingles which are usually due to breathing too much. I try counting backwards in 7s from 400, saying the Lord's prayer because I can say it over and over not because I go to church, I don't, but I'm sure God understands!! Breathing slowly ,out breath longer than in breath helps too. I can stop the shaking like this but it can start over. It's so irritating when I've nothing to panic about. Evidently out minds are very good at noticing a similarity between an innocuous situation and one when we had a reason to panic and maybe didn't at the time. It only has to be a smell or a movement of just anything ,can be something so small we don't make the connection.

Well you are still here to tell the tale. That's what I hang onto. "This does pass and I'm OK" "It's happened before and I got through it"

There rubbish aren't they. It's my first major one since October. But then I spend the next few days waiting for the next one to happen. X
