This will help calm you : Breathe in thru your nose to the count of 8, hold to the count of 5, blow out thru your mouth to the count of 7. Repeat. I use this with my grandson and helps him calm down . Change your remote , in other words, it is like changing channels on your TV. Change what your mind is thinking about. Think about something that brings you peace , something you enjoy . Choose a mantra, say it over and over . Hum a hymn , calm yourself, you can do it, ask for God's peace and favor . It is yours, ask for it and thank him for it . 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It is extremely hard to remember when you are tired and very late at night or to early in the morning and it hits you . There are meds that will help , if you are taking something now perhaps you need to talk to your doc about switching to something else that will help you avoid these meltdowns. It takes a tole on your whole body and time to recover . Sometimes it helps to talk to someone, glad I checked this site last night . If you can, rest and continue your breathing exercises to stay calm 😘

Hi not sure if this going help you but I get same problems, you need to try to identify what things in your life or past life that have or are traumatic enough to trigger these emotions once you have a idea what triggers are then these can be carefully reasoned out by some one other than yourself that you trust to be objective about your situation if the problems are from the past then that's what they are any they should stay in the past, Mind can help with this so may be best to get in touch with them and set up a meeting, or just keep taking on here.

My own anxiety has driven me to the point of suicide.

Kind regards a friend x

U say you know exactly what it is but to get help the waiting lists are so long it's a joke and you need help and advice today - yes? Is the problem anything that you feel able to share with us or go into a bit more detail. I'm not sure if I've an idea what u may be hinting at as to what you need to get help with. No pressure- after all I've got skeletons to deal with yet and I know they r always lurking just underneath each panic attach and days of depression. ????

Don't fight it. You being fearful only adds to your anxiety. Accept the sensations you are feeling and welcome them. They say anxiety is ones reactions to the thoughts and sensations. Once you are fearful of these thoughts and sensations, you are letting it win. Intrusive thoughts and also shaking is a part of anxiety. Accept and allow, don't fight it. Trust me! You are okay, you are not alone. God bless

Well said Samlax, that's how I get through it by breathing through and according the 'pain' which is my body and brain working through what is distressing me

It is my dear I've had a few nights like that this week, your body reacts to the thoughts and the more you think bad the worse your body will react, I know your scared and it may sound easy for me to say this to you at the moment

but you have got to fight the thoughts try breathing deeply in and out and keep saying to yourself its only thoughts, once you change the think pattern your body will relax too. How are you feeling this morning? Panick attacks cant kill you. Your not dyeing love. All the symptoms your bodies having is a reaction to your thoughts its going into survival mode, when you learn to control the thoughts you'll see physical symptoms subside. Keep thinking I felt this yesterday last week or last month and nothings happened your still here xx breath it out think it out, and everytime you feel it come on again keep repeating this you will control it, its a fight but they're just thoughts. I hope your feeling well this morning and hey your still here. We all are. Xxx mandy😉

Thank you for replying Sgbmandy i do tell myself this and i even give out advice when im not too bad but once youre in that place its like youre in a dark deep hole and nothing you do will pull you out, but when im not to bad like now i know how to cope with the emotions and feelings, thank you hun i dont think its the panic attack that makes me feel im dying but more the fact i feel like i cant breath, then i end up having a panic attack :( thanks hun hope youre okay x

I know it is hard you think its never going to end, I had a few nights like it last week. Think sometimes we need that little nudge and reassurance at the time. We all know it won't last but when I does happen on them occasions scares the daylights outaya xxx mandy😞

This is normal for those of us with anxiety. Talk thyself through it, I'm still learning this. Believe me it's not easy. But when you feel these symptoms you have to talk yourself through I even go in front of the mirror sometimes and slap my face, not too hard, lol and day hey stop this, you felt line this before it's your anxiety, And panic, your OK! Then try to deep breath, I even get up and try to do something, wash dishes, read, clean , go on this site, anything not too give in to the anxiety I'm feeLing. Sometimes it works sometimes the anxiety wins. I try and not feed the monster, ( my anxiety) if I "feed"it will grow bigger and take over and attack me. Good luck to you, take care. You can always reach out here I'm up and on a lot it helps me. Prayers for you, be well. Ps are you on anything our do any therapy? Meditation? Yoga?

I agree with all the above. Say "bring it on!" As soon as you welcome these feelings in they will start to subside. They are doing nothing now and can't hurt you, these horrible anxious feelings have no affect and eventually subside. Breathe deeply, and get your mind on something else. Read, Sing, Recite poetry - anything you enjoy and get breathing deeply.

Hi dear. I couldn't sleep last night either. It started with mind chatter and then the anxiety kept building. I tried listening to my relaxation tape but was too antsy to concentrate. I finally remembered about a therapist who years ago told me not to stay in bed but to walk around. Get your body to catch up to the adrenaline coursing inside you. Moving really helps in settling you down, even with heart palps. Hope that tonight is a better night :)

Anxiety is much worse when you are tired! You really need to sit down with a pen and paper try to figure out exactly what is causing you stress. When you get to the heart of the problem/s then you have to also think are your thoughts 'escalating' into illogical outcomes? This has helped me - I know mine relate to work and a couple of bad situations recently - my logical brain says ' this is not the end of the world and I should value myself more than making myself ill with heart palpatations, visit to doctor etc. Having read around the issues of anxiety - I found it helpful to understand that we have a 'monkey' mind that is our emotional side - that can escalate problems out of proportion AND there s our human logical mind that has to keep the 'monkey' in check. So - think through why you're suffering and is it logical - then do the work. Keep telling yourself how brilliant, perfect and human you are - we weren't born to suffer and we deserve more than the pain of anxiety. I hope this helps - there are great books on the topic and also Mindfulness that teaches to think of the moment - and if in the moment f anxiety you are not under threat then tell yourself to calm and be peaceful and leave worries in a box that you will open at a future point. Hope this helps? Take care
