Anxiety hair loss
You need to see your doctor. Hair loss is symptom of thyroid problem. Thyroid also causes anxiety /depression. Make sure you write down all your symptoms so you can let doctor know. Please keep me posted. I care and it is especially important because you have 2 children to take care of your health.
I have had my thyroid checked twice my gp says its fine they don't think it's a big deal its all in my head I have been stressed out alot I lost my job and started having anxiety attacks for the first time
Did doctor at least give you prescription to help with your anxiety and stress. Not a big deal to him. He's not the one struggling. If not, ask. You have 2 kids to care for and you can't care for them if you are having anxiety attacks. Also, you need to feel calmer if you are going to be looking for another job. Make sure you let him know your complete situation: hair, kids, loss of job, children to care for and your peace of mind. Duh, anxiety is a disorder of the mind, so tell him yes it is in your mind. Please keep me informed. I will be praying for you.
I used to be on some depression and anxiety meds they didn't really work I have lost my Insurance so I can't afford to go to the Dr no more they just brush it off when I told them I was losing my hair they said it was herdertiary I'm 25 year old female I'm the only person in my family with This problem
Can you find Dr that doesn't charge too much for office visits. Call clinics and ask what they charge. If you can't afford Dr now, there are foods that help with anxiety and teas, like chamomile tea. Drink 3 cups a day, eat healthy and you can try magnesium that you get at health stores. Magnesium can help you relax. Don't get magnesium oxide. Not strong enough. Also, if you take too much, it will cause diarrhea so start off slow and find what dosage works for you. Get powdered magnesium, easier to adjust dosage. Eat almonds, pumpkin seeds for snacks and 70 percent cocoa. Sm pc daily. Good luck. There are other foods and herbs that help. Maybe goggle or go to library and check out a book or buy one at book store.
Hello Hidden 25
You should see your GP and explain this problem to him.
Sometimes when we suffer anxiety, people will chew the ends of their hair or pull on th hair itself. If this is not the case there must be something that your GP may advise.
When you see the GP explain your Depressive state, The GP will arrange any treatment that he deems appropriate.
Good Luck

If it is anxiety based, with the job loss etc it can be daunting. First question to settle something in my mind, are you a man or a woman?
There are ways of dealing with anxiety but understanding what you're scared of, or worried about is half the battle sometimes. Once you've worked out what you're worried about you'll probably find that you're scared of what might happen. That in itself is counter productive as you're worrying about something that has not yet happened.
Practicing relaxation techniques works for some people as does learning calming techniques. Exercise also works well to get those worries dealt with as it is an effective way of getting those endorphins flowing which helps to feel better and calmer.
Sometimes men just seem to lose their hair at an early age for what seems like no 'good' reason... My son started in losing his hair when he was only 21... he was a very high energy, at times nervous acting person... but had always been that way since childhood... Nothing seemed to help... He never tried Rogaine... maybe that might help?? It helps women, too, I understand. I would check that out with my dr. first, however...
omg, isnt't it horrible? I'm a 46 yo woman but that does not mean that I am ready to give up my hair. I've been anxious for years so I cant think its that. I have curly thick hair down to my waist, now that it's thinning I appreciate all the past comments. It's still curly and thick but thinning at the top. I wanted to think it was my imagination but my dr confirmed it. I am female and as I told her, no person on either side of my family, male or female, has ever lost their hair at any age. I'm the first one. she didn't seem concerned
so im like " ,we don't lose hair. My father had extremely aggressive cancer, God bless him, but died with a beautiful head of hair. doc told me to get "hair vitamins" from the store. I'm gonna call the dermatologist but I still have a thyroid test pending. I'm not Sampson but people have coveted my hair ,now this. very disturbing. sounds minor to others but when it happens to you it s awful. every time I look in the mirror I get a panic attack. I feel your pain. I'm not a young woman. That was my last vestige of beauty and now its gone :{
I totally agree with the other comments about seeing your doctor. In the mean time, try adding 2 supplements that have helped me. One is magnesium for the anxiety, and the other is biotin for hair. I never put much store in the past in vitamins if I thought I ate right, but now, at age 59, I am a believer.
I have tried biotin it didn't help any im going to try folic acid and biotin its just getting to the point where I will have to get a wig I'm just tired of dealing with it dr think it's no big deal but their not the one who's losing their hair at 25
I really feel for you and can totally understand how you feel. There has got to be a doctor who knows what test to do and knowledge enough to treat the problem. I hope you can find something. I want to keep up here if you do, because we all, at some time or other have this problem.
Hugs and prayers going your way!!
