Hi

It's completely normal to feeling like you are dying or going to die during a panic attack and the worst part of them is that they come on so suddenly that you genuinely believe that this time you might be dying .

I had a course of CBT and in that we looked at what causes they physical symptoms of a panic attack and I think understanding it more helped me . Have you had any CBT it may be worth speaking to your go

X

CBT is available on the nhs so mention it to your Dr . In the mean time this site is amazing when u need a bit of reassurance it Rly helped me x

yes you do feel like your dying in a panic attack and as loopsyloo says they come on out of the blue they tend to happen when go to to a place your mind remembers from the past that something horrid happened and subconsciously you expect it to happen again, don't worry so far no one has died from a panic attack so the experts say.I get em every so often and I am still here.

Woke up one night in total panic rushed to toilet where I was violently sick and diarrhoea. Thought I was dying, couldnt breathe, dialled 999. The paramedics said it was a panic attack, but this was the worst one I have had. Was thinking of ending a relationship and think this had an effect on it! On Venlafaxine now for past 4 years and feel ok but sometimes still get that dread in morning of a long day ahead! Hope you feel better soon.

Hey there your so right, a panic attack is mainly brought on by a bad memory of something that happened or a place where something bad happened like a crowded store or marriage break up lots of things bring em on out of the blue, the thing is, stress as you say like ending a relationship can bring em on often they resemble a heart attack or stroke and can be scary with shakes weird speech numbness and the worst of em the feeling your dying, the idea is you have to learn what they are like and what may bring em on then avoid that situation if you can, say to yourself, this is a panic attack and it will pass. think on this, have you ever died before, the answer is no, so how do you know what dying feels like, you don't..
