I have itchy skin every single day of my life and it's really starting to get to me. I have explored reasons for the itching and have ruled out allergies and any other external things that may be causing it. I have noticed that when I get anxious which is most of the time I get itchy and then when I scratch the itch it gets more itchy and I get more anxious and so a vicious cycle happens.
I have resorted to taking antihistamine tablets which does help but I'm tired of having to take them every day of my life.
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

HI Lau x I sometimes get itchy skin and after checking all I found it was nothing but anxiety causing it x Its easy for a habit to form and maybe you are itching as its what you do when anxious so the habit has formed x Sorry I could not be more help x Donver x
You're probably right that it's now become a habit. I've recently stopped smoking so my anxiety is up higher than normal. I guess one habit replaced another! LOL! Thanks again
Hi Lauzzy 77, I know only too well the itching you're talking about, apart from taking antihistamines which don't always work or take ages to work,I found using cold flannels or ice packs help enormously, the itching is worse when the area gets too hot. The ice/cold takes the blood away from the surface skin area and reduces the itch/scratch/itch cycle. This works well for me, hope it will for you too. Good luck and take care.
