I recently started Citilopram, about a month ago for my anxiety and panic attacks. Initially my anxiety got worse, and side effects were bad. The side effects seem to have gotten some better, but I have been feeling so alone and just sad. All the time. I have always felt alone, but now it's like I feel as if no-one wants me around, like people are afraid of me or think I am weird, and I can't stop thinking about death. I in no way want to kill myself, but I think of how I will die and who will care and not care when I do. I have nightmares all night most nights, about me dying or being hurt and I can do nothing about it. I don't know if it is from the meds or if it is coincidence. Help?..
God help me..: I recently started Citilopram... - Anxiety Support

Morning shooting star
When the doctors first tried me of meds my mood complety changed.
They really depressed me. I cried uncontrollable, complete fell of isolation and something else I remember, no sex drive what soever! !
I think it can take a while before the doctors get the dose and the type of meds right.
In the end I opted for no meds and I had psychotherapy.
I would go back to the doctors and tell them exactly how your feeling and see what they suggest.
Stay strong
Hey there
Sorry youre having a hard time, I think the worrying about death is part of the depression. Depression makes the mind very negative, well that's how it was for me.... just my belief of how it affects you (Im not an expert)
but I have read a lot to try and make sense of it.
~Anyway if yhoure really worried maybe a trip back to your gp to reassure yourself?? But meds do take a while to settle down!!
Good luck with your journey xx
I am not being treated for depression though, so I don't get it =(
Sorry I should have said anxiety... I just link the two together.... My doctor said to me that anxiety is a part of depression, and I always thought but Im not depressed!! But this bout of anxiety for me has brought about depression too !!
Anyway I hope things start to settle down for you soon!! xx
Morning ShootingStar.
Having morbid thoughts are unfortunately a common symptom we have nearly all suffered with.Once your medication has fully kicked in they should lessen, but a trip to see you doctor and explain exactly what you have said on here would help them to treat you more specifically. If you find it hard to explain print off your post and take it with you. There is also a good website called headspace you could give it a try.
Take care Kenny-w
Thank you , Kenny.
