Cancer helped put my anxiety into.perspective.

Feb 2013 was the last time I posted I have suffered anxiety for years but gave in and was off work aug 12 until Jan 13. Went back to work too soon and made redundant end of Jan 13. Started selt employment June once I had completed therapies and was diagnosed with T3N2 eosophagal.cancer in.Aug having lost a lot of weight and other symptoms. 2 rounds of chemo oct and nov and.an anxious wait to find out if they would operate or palliative care. They decided.to carry out ivor lewis surgery. I am now 4 months post surgery with a further 5 months recovery b4 I can work. Outcome looks good. What I am saying is all the love and.support I received from many people has somewhat cured my social anxiety. Also I lent.a.lot on my spiritual beliefs and I feel I have put this anxiety in a well controllued place. The reality of possibly losing my life showed me how it would have effected many people and this somehow changed my mindset for the better. Looking at life in a much different way and anxiety has only a small role to play as I live my life with humble thanks to all the specialists and people who continue to support me. Eddie, I'm sorry that it had to take something that serious to change your perspective, but it sounds like you're pleased it has. I fret about things which could have a financial effect on my life, but never about my health - which is ridiculous. Hope your recovery is swift and remain positive.
