Horrible anxious feelings this morning.

Hi, slept last night but woke up with crushing anxiety in my chest. My fear is being alone and not being able to work. It keeps going round and round in my head. I don't know how to deal with this at the moment.

Hi there

I'm sorry your not feeling great this morning. Have you looked into cbt? I'm currently going to sessions. I was very much like you, fearful and a huge worrier which lead to my anxiety.

I would look into cbt if you haven't done so... It does make you think differently. There is a good book called "Overcoming Worry" it covers a whole range of things.

Also can I recommend a website called "headspace"

This helps you with deep breathing and to help you release any tension.

Hope this helps:) xx

Hi, thanks for this.

Hi Neil

I know you are on meds & having some kind of counselling which in time I am sure will start to work , even though when we are feeling so bad patience seems to be something we struggle with which is understandable

Stay in the day if you can with your thoughts , all the what if's this & that just add to our anxiety & they are what if's , say to yourself what you fear might never happen we don't know what the future holds !

Hope the rest of today is a good one for you & be kind to yourself & maybe do something that makes you feel happy because you deserve it :-)

Love

Hi, thanks for this. You are totally right about focusing on today! And being nice to myself, I feel like a worthless person because of where I am right now. It's difficult to be kind to myself but I need to try.

Hi Neil

You are not worthless even though I know we can feel this way

You are no doubt a very caring person & I think that's why we can suffer sometimes

See if you can do one thing that makes you happy today & maybe pop back on later & tell us what it was :-)

Thanks very much! My in laws came round to bring me birthday present and cake. They stayed for a couple of hours. I felt so tired and really struggled to chat. But 2 things made me happy! They bought me fancy bath oils so I am going to use them tonight. Also after they were gone I had a lie down for an hour and it was really nice and relaxing! Thanks again for your support.

Oh Happy Birthday Neil was it today ?

How nice of your in laws to bring you a cake :-)

It doesn't matter you struggled to chat you let them in which sometimes I have felt so bad I haven't wanted anyone to come & visit so feel proud you did

:-)

Hope you had a nice relaxing bath with your new bath oils :-)

I know exactly how that feels, my anxiety starts the minute I awake , we both need the good advice and kind support the others are sending you here. Hope you feel better with the knowledge you're not alone and good decent souls do care a lot x x

I too tend to make a lot of what ifs. Especially related to family, friends and work This doesn't help when you suffer from anxiety as it just deepens the anxiety and become a vicious circle. I try and set myself one goal each day to achieve. It could be to go shopping, or come on here and try and help others, or to meet someone for lunch etc. Some I enjoy doing others I don't but i try and get a balance. I love to walk and cycle but not very good at doing on my own and the weather is not encouraging others at the moment. What I'm saying is I think is try to keep yourself busy so that you don't have time to have these thoughts. I think i'm rambling now.

No you are making perfect sense! The problem for me is that my headaches are very bad at the moment. As a result I have no energy to distract myself/socialise etc. So then the anxiety takes a grip, then the headaches get worse! You're right about viscious circle!
