This feeling of anxiety and then trying to be sick seems to be getting worse. It started about 10 years ago. It's so embarrassing and not a good feeling. Should I go to my GP?

Hi Wookie & Welcome
I have suffered with the feeling of going to be sick when I have felt anxious but not to the degree that other than me feeling it I think anyone else has noticed & I have been able to cover it up from others
I do no when I get that feeling the more I panic the more I feel I am going to be sick , but so far never have been
Now when I get that feeling , I do tell myself its anxiety & it will pass , I no its not easy , but the more I can accept whats happening it helps take the fear away , which starts to make that feeling less
Maybe you could carry a bottle of water or some mints in you pocket , this helps me , a little , taking sips of water & try breathing exercises as well , take deep breaths in & slowly breathing out , it does take practice though
There would be no harm in seeing your GP about how you feel especially as this seems to be getting worse for you , by having a chat with them you certainly wont come away any worse than you are feeling now
Maybe some one else will come along later that will be able to give you better advice on how to deal with this
Keep talking on here , it does help , knowing you are not alone & people do understand
Love

Thanks why why for such a lengthy response, will try mints and breathing exercises. Think I will also have a chat with my GP, strangely my dad suffers exactly the same x
Hi rookie the most common symptom of anxiety is feeling sick i suffer with this most days which is awful try and distract your mind a little take notice of something else and always think this will pass you can always go to your gp and tell him how you feel but mostly remember your not alone
