Hello! I am new to this group today and thought I would introduce myself. I have been experiencing anxiety and depression as long as I can remember, since middle school at least, and it reached its lowest point this January - since I hit that rock bottom I knew I needed to make a change and have been trying whatever I can to improve my life. I've discovered that Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a huge help to me, as are art therapy and group and peer support settings (which is surprising, because my anxiety is largely social in nature). I'm feeling all right now, but these mental health journeys are never linear and never finished. This group was recommended to me by a therapist and it seems supportive, so I'm trying it out.

Welcome! I am also relatively new to this group. Yes, healing is not linear and it is different for all of us, but we can relate to eachothe and this group helps me to know I am not alone in my suffering or my healing journey.
I've been mostly reading. Now that I've been laid off and finished my taxes, I hope I can be more active here. I enjoy reading everyone's user names--they're so creative--and I love yours. Is there a story behind it?
