switching to Prozac from Lexapro

I am in the process of switching to Prozac after being on Lexapro for two years. I am having some side affects that I do not like. Such as waking up very suddenly at all hours of the night. Also I have moments of intense anxiety. Will these subside after a couple weeks? It has only been one month on prozac. I am still taking lexapro and I am suppose to start weaning off next week.

I had terrible anxiety on Prozac and on all SSRIs. lexipro is an SSRI too I think . Why did they put you on the same drug class ? If the Lexipro is not working why not try a different class of drugs. I had treatment resistant depression with terrible anxiety. I was ready to cash it in the. I tried Lamictal and it was pretty much a miracle. No side effects and I felt better in a week not months. I had terrible rumination that went away fast. The biggest thing with SSRIs and me was no libido and anhedonia. Didn’t happen on Lamictal. I was on it for a year and a half then off. I haven’t been on anything for three years.
