Hi, after five years of celexa (mostly for anxiety), it stopped working. Doc put me on cymbalta because I also had a lot of Ibs pain after gallbladder surgery. Cymbalta was very effective but caused weight gain, foggy brain and high blood pressure. So I successfully tapered it of from November to January. Not completely comfortable without any support (definitely a genetic predisposition for anxiety) doc put me on Prozac. First two weeks of 10mg, now on 20. I feel so much anxiety though! Almost physically trembling. Especially in the morning... was also slightly over medicated for thyroid, but I know that’s not all. Should I stick to the Prozac or switch to lexapro? Will this get better? Also have to p so much more often....

On Prozac since three weeks, so much anxiety though? Will this pass or try a different SSRI?
If you can, give it some more time. Prozac is the only medication that ever really helped me. But each time I went on it I had horrible anxiety until it finally kicked in a good 6 to 8 weeks after I started it. I know that's a long time to wait, but as I understand it, that's the nature of antidepressants. In the meanwhile, you might ask your doctor to give you something for when the anxiety is too much. Exercise, meditation, herbal teas, etc. can also help. So sorry you are having a tough time.
Thank you so much. It’s good to hear it can help. I practice yoga and meditation but it’s been hard ;-). I had forgotten what it was like to start an SSRI. Switching from celexa to cymbalta was much easier. And it’s such a roller coaster some days.
Hope you’re doing well.
And your thyroid being even a bit off is probably attributing to all of this!!!! Keep up your meditation, yoga, and maybe add some epsom salt baths for magnesium!
Your body will soon level off and find its way🤗 Know you have support here!
It definitely seems a combination of the two! Endo adjusted meds so yes that should help. Thank you 🙏
I have Hashimoto’s so totally get how the thyroid can set the stage for mental health issues😒
