I am 27, and I have a 10 year old sister that my dad and stepmom adopted when she was a a baby. My dad asked if I could watch my sister for an overnight so he and my stepmom could go away for a night. I said yes, but anticipating that I would be so anxious. She is coming today around 2pm, and my dad will pick her up tomorrow around 6pm. I’m just so anxious I don’t know why. I do live with my boyfriend but he’s working this weekend. He will be home tonight which may make me feel better. Again I don’t know why I’m so anxious I didn’t think I would feel this way. I feel stupid.

Hello Daisy, it is normal to feel anxious. Maybe this is your first time taking care of your sister? Or not. I get anxious even when I have done the activities before. That is how anxiety works, makes you doubt yourself. Its going to be fun spending time your sister. Play some board games, go out to the. Park, eat out. She will be happy to be with her big sister.
You're not stupid, your brain is just working overtime and in a way that isn't helpful for making you feel better; but the good thing about kids is that they really don't judge much, they just want someone who listens and plays with them! And I believe 100% that you can do those things 💛
How lovely to have your little sister to stay with you, it’s natural to be nervous but I bet she is so excited at the visit , I bet you’ll have a lovely time together👍
