I tend to self-isolate and have social anxiety- is it the chicken or the egg?
I’m working on this as well. I think, because we wish to connect we have to find a safe space such as a support group of some kind. I even almost started going to church again. But what we need is people in an open and compassionate head space. Then it will probably take some effort to exchange contact info, then contact the person, then set up/agree to a meet up, then actually follow through. I’m at the follow through stage and at this meeting I will try be open, compassionate, and vulnerable as we chat. My therapist likes to emphasize the vulnerable part. Show people who you are and how you are doing. Hopefully something will come of that. I hope that is somewhat helpful. Best wishes.
Maybe practice by going to a local coffee shop☕ or church.
