I’m just wondering if this is normal for doctors to call, with bad news, during holidays?
I found out the day after Christmas that I have cancer and need surgery. They had actually tried to call me the day of Christmas eve, why couldn’t they wait until after new year?
I actually checked the patient portal after the first phone call and saw the results of my endometrial biopsy said: low grade endometrium carcinoma. Christmas was already stressful with my (narcissistic) mom visiting and my oldest daughter choosing not to be part of it. My mom left day after Christmas and I told her a few days later because I didn’t want to ruin Christmas. I’m now already scheduled January 17 for total laparoscopic hysterectomy & oophorectomy. I’m still shocked because I have no symptoms.
I do have a bad gene from my dad called Lynch syndrome (msh6) that is why I’ve been getting tested. So I guess I’m lucky this was caught early and doctor says surgery should take care of it.
On a happier note, I got a new doggie for Christmas. He looks just like a fluffy white teddy bear 🧸 Happy New Year everyone

Hi to you and Happy New Year. I am in the UK and our doctors don’t work much over the holiday, so maybe your doctor was having a day in the office and did some work?
I am sorry for your diagnosis, but they have caught it early so should be successful and it’s in an area of your body which it can be eradicated. It’s good they are getting on with the arrangements.
Enjoy your new baby doggie. He will be your faithful friend in all of this and help you through.
oh my, I’m so sorry to hear about the diagnosis but I’m very relieved for you that it was caught early and surgery will take care of it. I’m also happy you have a new doggie to help you through it! What a great Christmas gift. Happy New year 😊
There is never a good time to tell anyone that they’ve got cancer. In these days of patient portals etc when the information is on line for patients to see, doctors are understandably anxious that you get the news from them - as soon as possible.
So sorry to hear about the diagnoses, I am in the UK and our doctors only work the hours they have to. So very difficult to get a GP appointment, relieved that it has been caught early. So happy for you that you have a new doggie. I lost my Cavalier King Charles Bella in July she was 14 and passed away from heart failure. Still so hard without her, but so blessed to have had her. Hope everything goes well sending love and hugs
Ah they are a beautiful breed, my friend has a cockapoo she is 13, good luck with your new fur baby. Hope everything goes well with your operation, please keep us up to date take care
