I always journal my thoughts/issues/emotions...helps me make them manageable and helps me to realize the issue....I'm also not very good at expressing my emotions to others so writing them out helps me communicate to others what I need help with

Thank you. I do journal too. And you're right. It does make my thoughts more manageable. Thank goodness I'm the only one that reads it. Lol😇

Not too many people read mine....it is more of a reminder for me to talk to my doctor about it....

I use mine for everything. Including venting. 😉

A few things that helped me was getting in a quiet place with a writing pad and pen and then mentally focusing on the repressed emotions, allowing myself to feel them in my body and then just start writing them on the paper, not editing them or worrying about spelling, etc... but just being in touch with them and venting them. Repressed anger was a biggie for me so I would do the same thing with focusing on the anger and rage and just venting it on the paper. I would also get a pillow, mentally focus on the anger, feel it in my body and start beating the crap out of the pillow and venting until I was exhausted. I would even also yell and scream as I was doing it. I also sometimes would use a plastic baseball bat and beat the crap out of the pillow with it to vent the anger. It felt good and healing to do these and release the emotions and worth the effort.
