I'm almost 62 and had my first episode of depression at 24. I had severe problems with alcoholism and gambling addiction and got immersed and active in A and GA at 26. I experienced episodes of severe depression throughout my life. I'm 34 years sober and 2 3/4 abstinent doing both GA and AA. I have been living in Alaska for a year and 3/4 and have had wonderful experiences however I am currently in an awful depression and have decided to move back to my home state where I have a sister. I feel this depression is overwhelming like the others. I've been in and out of counseling and on and off a plethora of medications that never worked. Upon returning to my home state I will get back into the health network there.

Depression with its symptoms are torture and agony.
You've really been through alot. You look after yourself now. Sometimes family can help other times strangers do. We are here for you and to listen but not judge you. Concentrate on mental health care and make yourself the most important priority xxxxx
Thank you. My move back to my home state is the first step and I plan to do all I can to get stable and maintain that stability.
You do the best you can for yourself as you deserve happiness and stability and good life x
Learn who you are and understand - you matter x
Take it as good chance in life for yourself x
Journaling, write down feelings and thoughts as might really help someone x
Try meditation as guided meditation youtube and just google and just needs 5 min or can do longer - where you watch your thoughts and breath away your stress and inhale or introduce calmness etc
Congrats on your sobriety all these years. That is a hard thing to overcome, but you did it. I hope things get better for you when you move back closer to your family. Good luck in all you do everyday!😍😍
This makes me so sad. No one deserves to be so unhappy. I'm the same way, off and on. Hard to believe that so many people actually exist like this. Good luck with your move.
